Bruni, I am using the same Fluke 116 multimeter in Venezuela in very hot weather (25 to 40 C), and it works very well. I measure the temperature here using the regular leads by touching the positive to one portion of a piece of metal and the negative to another potion of the same piece of metal, and it works very accurately. Great video, thanks!!! I don't know where you are, but up North I suppose. I used to work in Eeyou-Istchee territory with the Crees and I miss it very much but the cold was killing me, so I moved to Venezuela (the tropics). Thanks!!!
My buddy just hooked me up with a 116 and a 902 FC with nice accessory pack and carrying case for all,, l have seen only good reviews on both mutimeters he gave me, nice to have good friends.
It’s used for testing flame rectification on a modern boiler. Connect it in series between the board and the flame rectification probe and confirm there is current.
I have the similar Fluke 115 (with the Temperature and uA ranges replaced by DC and AC Amps instead), and you're right, the leads and probes (TL75) that come with the meter are stiff, cheap and absolute garbage. Fluke ain't what it used to be by shipping this crappy leads with any of their products. Fortunately, the meter has been performing well for over a year now. The only weak point is the display becomes unreadable when viewed from above (especially with the back light on). But otherwise I'm very satisfied with it and also use it everyday in my work. I'm an industrial mechanic (what was called a Millwright some years ago). Thanks for sharing.
