How to test an automotive 12 Volt relay - normally open and normally closed relay shown

Hi can I use the 12v relay on my vvt ocv solenoid. I have a 4age 20v engine that has been converted to a carburetor now normally the 4age vvt is controlled by ecu and a rev counter. So I who like to know if I try to connect the vvt ocv solenoid to my 12v relay, will it work?

BUYING A RELAY TESTER WILL SPEED THE PROCESS
