Nice video. I'll throw in that I plug only the vacuum line that returns from the intake manifold. I put a plug snugly inside of it where it would plug into the intake and secure it in place with silicone tape while I test. It makes it a little easier and you can do it all on the passenger side. I usually boost leak test when I do an oil change, just to double check.

Are you connecting to the turbo inlet? I know the older n55 often leaks there under pressure vs vacuum

Nice, thanks for this...wonder if the compressor hose/fittings(1/4” ?) are also restricting psi.

f3irty good point I’ll try a bigger fitting. Honestly though I think I need a bigger, stronger compressor.

can i inject smoke the same way instead of pressure and do a smoke test this way?

Yes, but for smoke I would start the top of intake right after the MAF. Don’t run smoke over the MAF. The point is to check for unmetered leaks so the starting point for smoke is best at the top of the intake tract.

Can you smoke that up so smoke instead of air can come out the leaking areas?

Yes I ended up doing a smoke test too and found other areas that needed tightening

What is the purpose of removing the oil cap?
@paddoqclub

You can blow out your seals

@@paddoqclub good point. I used a smoke machine that put a small amount of pressure in the system. Not sure if any seals were blown, no oil on the ground or oil consumption.

Are you doing this on the turbo inlet inlet or the tic pipe

In this video directly into the inlet not the intake pipe
