How to Test for continuity and insulation on a Wash heater Element 

For general knowledge.... On my Bosch Nexxt 300 series WFMC2201UC, the specifications from the repair manual are as follows. Measure resistance all parts disconnected. Heater 13.7 - 15.2 ohms NTC 22.8 - 27.4 kilo ohms @68 degrees F. Water inlet valves 2.7 - 4.5 kilo ohms. Drain pump 140 - 200 ohms. Hope this helps some people with their repairs.

Please, my Hotpoint Aquarius WM62P is starting to fill with water then the breaker in my fuse box is tripping. If I disconnect the wires to the heater element (leaving the thermistor wires connected). and try it, machine then works ok and goes through the cycle without tripping the power. I have a multimeter and checked the resistance of the element, I get 26 ohms which seems correct. I don't have a megometer (Insulation tester) to check that. All the wiring to and from the element looks good. Do you think it is the element that is needing replaced due to an insulation fault?

Help, please. I got no resistance when I checked my element. Do I need to buy a new one?

You you did not press the test button on mega meter

Maybe if you had zoomed in a little we could se what was going on.
