So this fridge has two capacitors? The cylinder type and then one attached to the start relay?

Thanks for watching. These are 2 different models to show the variation of how capacitors are mounted and wired. At 5:29 "in other models" is mentioned to help highlight this. There might be some models with both start and run capacitor but this are not as common. Run capacitors are more common in general.

@@AmreSupplyI think what we’re both seeing is at 5:18 he states he’s grabbing the start relay and capacitor with an obvious capacitor attached to the relay (this is the same model with the cylinder capacitor in the back) Is the cylinder capacitor the start capacitor then? I’m having a tough time differentiating between start and run capacitors. Are there any physical attributes or where they’re located/not located that you can use to consistently tell them apart? Any explanation would be appreciated, thanks!

@@chrismcclain6518 At 5:18 there is a single cylinder run capacitor for that Frigidaire model. At 5:29 there is a mount on rectangular run capacitor on the Whirlpool model. If a model has a start and run cap they will likely be close together and obvious. For some older models that have a start capacitor, these will likely be cylindrical, and will generally be larger. You can also know if it is a start capacitor based on where on the relay the wires are connected. See the example at 2:38 for more detail.

Good day, I have an old Husky Commercial cooldrink fridge, my technician just fixed 2 gas leaks, thermostat and the wring from the thermostat, he tested the winding of the compressor, which was good, but when he plugged in by us, the capacitor blew, can it be that it is just the capacitor, or can it be that the compressor got damaged inside? I bought it second hand and it seems the people I bought it from wanted to fix it. I froze up from the inside and at the outside where the compressor is, not on the compressor but the one pipe froze up. I am stressed that it may be the compressor that is causing the capacitor to blow. Please let me know. He is saying it may just be the capacitor, but my brain is saying something else

Thanks for watching. It can be difficult to tell. Try installing a new capacitor and see if it works properly. If the capacitor fails again then it could be an issue with the compressor. You could also test the cmpressor for a short following the steps in this video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-NND8J8dXqJ0.html

A faulty capacitor will cause an overheating situation that results in the compressor shutting down prematurely. A good test to see if an overheating situation exists: pull the refrigerator away from the wall and remove the cardboard cover as shown in the video. Clean the cooling fan and area with a vacuum brush attachment. Doing all of this will maximize the air circulation. Then plug the refrigerator back in, and see if the capacitor now allows the compressor to stay on for several minutes, as it should. If it does, then the capacitor is probably faulty. If it doesn't, then check for other problems, such as a faulty relay or faulty compressor.

Thanks for sharing those are great tips. We explore this in more detail in this video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-oPmr6boufmE.html

Hello there, I have this Bloomberg built in freezer which is not cooling at all. The evaporator fan is running but no cooling in the evaporator. I could not access the compressor to verify if it’s running. Are you able to help and provide me how to access the compressor of a Bloomberg built in freezer, model #: BRFB1050FFBI

Thanks for watching. That's not a model that we're familiar with but it likely has an access panel of some kind.
