11 kohms is not a standard for all thermistors. My technical manual says the correct reading should be 47 kohms at 77° temperature. mine was reading 34 which caused the washer to not dispense hot water

The reading with my tester Was 42.50 k ohms ,with temperature of 27 centigrades ( my country), is it correct? Have you got te table for whirpool thermistors?
On my Lg front load washing plus Dyer it’s show DHE error after few minutes of run of duet heater also works but DHE come again If I restart dyer after heating for few minutes DHE error again but heater n wiring is ok what will be the fault pls explain from India 10 July 2022
I just bought a thermistor from Parts DR and is not working properly. How likely is it that a new thermistor is bad? After testing a couple times the reading was different each time. First time 11.84 second time 11.24 but never 11.34 recommended reading. What is your suggestion? Thank you...
It sounds like yours is testing good. A difference of plus or minus 5% is usually normal. Plus the temperature of the sensor for touching your hand or something else can cause the reading to change. If you hold the sensor in your hand while you test the part, the sensor will warm up and the resistance value with increase.

Hi, again, The current cost of the new heater element is prohibitive for a few months. Is it possibly to leave the entire heater element part disconnected from the main control board so it isn't used? Do you know which connector on the LG EBR 78534500 is for the heater and thermistor so I don't connect it? THx. Robert

Hello thanks for the great video I tested mine with multimeter setting at 20K and the reading I'm getting back is 8.99 and 9.22 but nothing at 11 or higher. I know you stayed "if it test significantly higher than 11 or lower it should be changed" would the readings I just mentioned qualify as a part that should be changed? Over changed the entire heating element with new fuses everything but still no heat. So this would be my last option if I'm guessing right. Thanks in advance!
@@PartsDr I ordered the part just in case. But here's a side note question. I tested one of the thermostats and it has continuity. When I put a small flame under it snaps but it stays snapped. It doesn't click back into place I test it and not continuity. Will that be a problem? My overall issue with my LG dryer is that it's runs but gives no heat at all. Like I mentioned I replaced the entire heating element with a new one. But nothing. I also checked the outlets plug to make sure I have the correct voltage coming out and it was confirmed that it's working properly. Kind of feel like I'm running out of options
Sir, i am a Technician from the Philippines 🇵🇭 And a newbie on electronics... i am currently troubleshooting an Inverter split type a/c unit 3 tonner. As manufacturer's rated the Room temp sensor is 15k, if the reading drops to 12k is it still good? Same with the pipe sensor at 20k then my read out is 16.99k are they still good? Thank you❤❤❤
The resistance scale for each thermistor can be different for each make and model of appliance. You will need to find the specifications for the specific appliance you are working on to test the sensor.
Hello parts dr. I tested my lg washer heater element and thermistor. My results are, heater: 14.5 ohms 014 contin thermistor: tested on 200k option and the result is 053 ohms I plugged in my numbers for the heater element into an ohms calxulator app. element is 120v 1,000 watts the results are: 8.5 amps 14.5 ohms, so the heater element seems to check out as functional. I dont understand the thermistor reading, is it functional or not? once this issue is finished then moving onto the next issue. Thank you, Robert

You would most likely need to look up the specific information for that particular thermistor to see how it should be tested. Most thermistors on appliances have two pins that we commonly see.

They use a similar thermistor on dishwashers to monitor the water temperature. The resistance specifications could be different, so check the specifications first before testing it.
Hi, I have an LG model WM3370HWA front load washer. Ther thermistor is actually contained in the water heater assembly, and removable. I tested the thermistor and started with the lowest OHm value on the dial and worked my way up until an actual reading displayed on the screen. From the lowest Ohm setting each dial selection displayed the default screen of 1___ ohms, until the 200k was selected. This is at room temp between 65 & 70 degrees F Dial select: 200k Reading: 053 Is this normal for this thermistor? Is it supposed to be tested at 200k? The heater element checks out functional. 120v 14.5 Ohms Contin: 014 Watts: 1,000 This thermister is designed and manufactured into the heater element casing. It is removable, yes, but is just the thermistor sold separately, or do I have to purchase the entire heater assembly? THx, Robert
