When you vacuum leak check with Carb Cleaner or other, use the straw on the nozzle. It will help you pinpoint where the spray at the suspected leak source. If you need to extend it, use a piece of clear vinyl tubing. You want the spray source as close as possible to the item you are spraying. The spray will be more dense (spray fans out with distance) and easier to see the exact spot that's leaking that way. If you ever have to change 1 injector seal, change ALL of them.

Always silicone paste all O-rings. Press & twist connections together. When in doubt of age, or if over 6 months old- never reuse O-rings. A spray bottle of plain water is safer, and just as effective- to help find vacuum leaks.

Hello Andy, there's nothing inexpensive for your needs, most of the one's we know of are between 500 to 1,200 dollars, your best bet is to take it to a dealership have them give you the diagnosis and then fix it yourself if possible. Sounds like you have an electrical problem. Brakes, when applied, use a lot of electrical power, you might want to put a volt tester on your battery while the car is running and have someone apply the brakes and make sure you are not dropping below the necessary voltage to keep your car running. This is just one of many, many issues you could have but it sounds like you may be drawing too much power away from your injectors. I have replaced my maf/map sensors twice/throttle body and sensor/air filter/alternator and I still am getting code P0101 please help what I should do?? 2014 Chevy traverse..it goes in low engine mode and I can’t drive over 20 mph..so idk why I keep getting this code and I have changed everything..should I do what u did in this video?

Your other issues you may have with that code are 1. a vacuum leak 2. a problem with your intake manifold, it could have a small crack in it 3. a clogged or dirty air filter 4. wiring connections to your maf aren't good. Check everything that you can check and if it still does this, you probably have a broken wire of some sort. You may end up taking it to a certified repair facility my friend. When I replace something like my injectors I try to go OEM which will run way over $100.00 for all 4, so knowing the injectors themselves were good, what I did was get a kit with all the seals, o-rings and on mine, new screens. Worked like a charm for under $50.00. A lot of times especially when someone has messed with them before they don;t take special care when installing them and pinch the seal (like on yours) which will end up with a fail. Another great video... Always a big THANK YOU!

i'm curious,why if you unplug the MAF and the car keep running or not it tell you is bad or not?the MAF isnt acting with the car anymore ... i wonder since i have a 2004 volvo v70 r having idle issue and very high consumption fuel,i have 2 obdii code "p0507 and p2187" and i believe is my MaFsensor, i have change all vacuum line and do spray test on manifold,injector etc with out any effect and if i unplug the mass air flow the car keep running but very ba,confirm probly your point ,but just wondering why lol , thanks you nice video btw

Hi I just got a P0106 on my Hrundai Elantra 2012. Says its a MAP sensor fault on my OBD2. I am very thankful for your video and would like to try the spray test. Just because the engine quits after unplugging mAF sensor, doesn’t mean the Sensor is free from fault. Best method is a scan tool and Repair manual

First thing you need to do is get your computer set back to default, do this, remove both battery cables and let it sit for 24 hrs. Reconnect it then drive 10 miles or so, if that doesn't do it then you need to get one of these amzn.to/3Ca2QeD and find out what the problem is. Usually if you do an air intake upgrade you will lean the system out, thats what we have found. If it was a vacuum leak wouldn’t the check engine light stay on all the time? Having this issue with an 04 silverado 5.3 with intermittent check engine light and threw maf code… but had a buddy with a vacuum leak on his same model truck and his engine light stayed on all the time… he was diagnosed with a vacuum leak… verdict? Do i have a bad maf sensor or vacuum leak?

Try this, disconnect both battery cables, let it sit overnight. Clean the posts and the terminals well before re-installing. I once had a lean on bank whatever error with my 2006 Chevy Colorado with nothing in the codes about my MAF functionality and it turned out to be a bad O2 sensor. Just goes to show how these little tricks and a decent understanding of how you can disconnect stuff or spray things in certain places goes an awful long way to diagnose something. Of course, having a $500.xx set of service manuals always helps, too! (Something I thankfully bought for both my truck and my 2008 Saturn Sky Redline.) Thanks for the video.

I have a 2013 nissan altima 2.5, it starts but cuts off when put into gear. Got the 102 , 101 code. Replaced mass air flow sensor but still cuts off

@@slewfoot6608 you need to understand the maf sensor reads air flow. A good maf will display 1 gram per sec air flow for each liter engine size. 8.1 liter V8 draws 8.1 grams per sec at idle.

100% i took mine off while it was running, and ofcourse the car kept running. I automatically assumed its faulty and was gonna buy a new one for over 100 $ untill I looked around and followed my breather hose to find out there was a huge hole at the end of the hose stacked right behind the engine where it was hard to see.

1:17 When my MAF is connected, the car idles OK (no check engine light). When I disconnect the MAF from my petrol car, the engine idles rough (but does not stall), and the check engine light comes on. What does this mean?

I tried this method with maf sensor on my fiesta st 2014, pulled out the maf sensor and cur still runs. I have system too lean bank 1 code and trying to find a solution. Revs go up when idling around 1600 and then down again

Jason Voorhees it works on about 80% of the vehicles your best bet would be to run the codes and see what it is pulling

This method does not work on my 2000 protege and my 2010 mazda3. It does not stall however it does idle up and down.

Thank you for showing this video Sweet Project Cars. I also experienced the same thing last year but did not know why it happened and continued to send it to the mechanics. The mechanics say that the fuel injector needs to be changed but does not look like new. and now after being shown by Sweet Project Cars it will save my money in the future if the same thing happens. Thank you for your knowledge. 06' C/K 2500HD . I replaced the Mass Air Flow Sensor with one from Auto Zone and cleared the codes, no more MIL . Today it came back. I unplugged it and the idle changed but it kept running. what do you think I should do?

You fixed the obvious problem but you didn't verify the repair by looking at the readiness monitors being ready along with mode 6 data to confidently say it is fixed for sure.

It was fixed, the car ran like it was brand new check engine light never came back on car has never run better customer was ecstatic even gave us a tip they thought they were driving a new car they said that’s all we really need to know and that’s all the do it yourself really has and needs Video was about helping them find issues and just more knowledge for their memory bank have a great night

Hi.. Thanks for the video.. I have a touareg vw 2006 model has p0102 code and tcs light came on..thevair bag light also was flashing sometimes since long time..Replaced maf sensor.. It was fine for a half hour journey.. Tcs also went away..after hslf hour tcs light came on and scanned by odb2..code getting now p0101..totally confused.. Checked air filter snd hoses everything fine..intake manifold was removed once a time replace the head cover gasket.. It is fine fitted by looking..no leaks found anywhere.. I guess while code p0102 got i was got a misfire cilynder 1 and after multiple.. Do i removed out the spark plugs outvand checked one plug was little bent its metal rode where the spark occurs..removed out all plugs and coils..cleaned all with petrol and the bent plugs adjusted spark gap's and installed back andvsame time replaced maf sensor also.. After i am gettimg p0101 code.. Do uou have any idea about it..? It spatk plugs or coils damaged due to cleaning by petrol.? Is this bad coils or plugs cause this code..? I have a sudden or lazy pick ups sometimes while driving..gear shifting also not smooth sometimes.. But when clearing codes its runs fine for a hslf hour..after Tcs is on.. Air bag is also flashing some times....i am totally confused what to do.. Kind uour help please.. I am an Indian from Kuwait..

If you didn't replace all of your coils, now is the time to do so. Once you've done that start the car up and spray the top of the engine while it's running close to the intake and fuel injectors with this amzn.to/3ZH0X2q to see if you have a vacuum leak the engine rpm's will pick up if there's a vacuum leak, you need to spray around until you find which area is leaking. The other thing to do is this ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-2uIX_LNWxRY.html for no less than 24 hrs. longer if you can. What was the issue you were having with your car, the issue I'm having is my truck starts but takes a few seconds crank I'm thinking fuel pressure is bleeding off through the injectors via a bad seal. I changed the mass airflow sensor truck ones better but still have the cranking issue. Awesome video by the way thank you very much!

Sounds like either your injector controller has taken a dump or your fuel pump has taken a dump or your injectors all decided to not do their job at the same time. Can you have a vacuum leaks without DTC's? My mileage sucks on my 5.0 f150 and I'm thinking the computer is using more gas with the "extra" air.

You can have a vacuum leak, try this; disconnect your battery, both cables, let the vehicle sit overnight then reconnect the battery this will help the computer re-set back to default. You are correct Christopher some vehicles are very tough to get to the injectors and all we can say is pray that it is not your intake or intake gaskets that job is not fond of a great night my friend

What if when I pull out the MAF sensor sometimes my car stops and sometimes it keeps running? Could it still be an issue. I have no check engine light on, but my car will randomly die at stop lights and will start back up as soon as I put the car in park and crank the key. Would appreciate any help. Love the vids btw!

Sounds like your mass airflow sensor is starting to go I would replace that and then I would check all the wires and connections on the female part of the plug-in hope this helps

Hi, i have honda 8th gen 1.8L and short term fuel trim at ideal position -16% to - 10% LTFR 0% and fuel consumption only 7km per liter. My cat is TOTALY blank inside (all material which was in exusat weast though exusat but both o2 sensor intact. Is it due to expired cat?

Take this amzn.to/2rjAPfo and hit reset. If your check engine light doesn't go out after that you have not fixed the problem. You can also try this, disconnect both cables from your battery and let it sit for at least 8 hrs. then re-connect the cables. go and try that on my audi :( it's just not doable to pull the injectors off, they come with the intake manifold which is imprisoned by 30 different tubes hoses and crap. it's 3 hours to take off for a seasoned mechanics.

I just got done dealing with a P0101 code (MAF). After changing and checking all I could it ended up being a bad battery. I had an Oddsey battery and it had enough power to start the truck but not enough for the “brain” to operate. Swapping the battery solved the problem.

I have a problem with my mass air flow sensor, I tried to clean it up and still the engine light comes up. Then I bought a second hand mass air flow sensor and change the one I have, and my engine runs smoothly no rough idle and no more engine light. When I test to remove the connector while the engine running it didn´t stop so meaning the one I put also bad? I saw also a video here in you tube regarding fulling out the contact while engine running, why my engine still running when I full it out the connector? can anyone explain pls.

leon if it is running good and the check light it out then you are good to go also if you disconnect your battery both positive and negative cables for 15 minutes and then reconnect then drive for 50 miles or so it will reset your computer back to default.

My 93 Pontiac Grand Am GT with the 3.3L V-6 when put in park will surge from 500 rpm to 1000 rpm but when put in drive it goes away and drives fine until I stop at a stop sign or traffic light then idles rough until I give it gas to go. Sometimes it will stall when I stop like it's not getting enough gas. I cleaned the MAF senor but still does it. Could it be a vacuum leak or maybe some other senor I'm overlooking. If it only does it when it's in drive, just leave it in drive LOL. Did you use this amzn.to/3MjGFIu and only this when cleaning your MAF? Also, make sure that your air filter has been replaced. You will also need to use this here amzn.to/3VX5rRT use the whole bottle on half a tank of fuel. We are doing these things to rule out the least expensive problems out of the equation. If doing these things does not take care of your problem, use this amzn.to/3LOiiRO and this will tell you what codes you are pulling up, once you do this let us know what codes you received and we will get you pointed in the right direction Kelly.
