Hello and welcome to the episode, today im going to show you how to remove and install a high flow air filter on a 2020 Honda NC750X.
Help the channel and Buy Me A Coffee: www.buymeacoffee.com/nicksepisode
You dont need an additional tools only the ones provided inside the manufactures tool kit, you will find a screw driver and a Allen wrench
first thing you should do is remove the battery cover as shown
this will allow you to gain access to the lower air filter cover screws
remove the left panel has shown, the front end is clipped in so carefully pull it away giving it a slight wiggle
now do the same for the right side
here you can see it hooks in at the front
next thing you need to remove is the centre panel, this is held in with these plastic push rivets, push them in half way and the rivet will prise up
in total there are 6 holding these on, 3 each side
there is a hidden one inside here
now remove the silver screw on the left
pop out the three rivets on the right side,
now remove the silver screw
lift the left side and make your way to the right
once both sides are lifted now you can pull the centre part towards you because its clipped in under the dials, be careful here move the bars from left to right to wiggle the panel out, the plastic is soft and can flex if you need to.
Here you can see its one complete part
now remove the centre lock panel as shown
remove the centre lock
pop out the air sensor, its only a push fit and will easily come out
here you can see there are 6 screws holding the air filter lid in place
carefully unscrew all of them
now lift out the air filter lid, the filter is attached to the top part
its clipped in you can use a screw driver to pry it out
here is a k and n high flow air filter, if its red in colour then its pre oiled, if not make sure you buy some air filter oil and apply it first
here is the stock filter against the high flow filter
install the parts as shown, be careful not to trap any wires, especially the air flow sensor we pulled out earlier
now push the flow sensor in
install the locks
make sure the cables are not kinked and routed correctly
install the centre panel, clip the front in first then clip in the side section
install the silver screws and then the rivets
clip in the painted panels
install the battery cover
before closing the lid check both locks function correctly using the Allen wrench as shown
Thanks for watching!!

Being an ex car mechanic, I'm astounded that so many bikes need to be virtually dismantled just to do routine maintenance. My wife has a cb125r, and I had to almost strip it just to get to the battery. I had panels screws and clips everywhere.

Cheers Richard, this was the first time me using the insta360. It's an amazing camera which I find it's more editing but I like that you can pick your camera angles after. I really enjoy the editing part so it's all good and I'm still learning. The camera recorded for over an hour in 360 5k and I still had battery left, and guess what, no over heating! I am fully converted now! I'm going to record an on the road vlog today with a pov angle. I have the mic adapter with a 150 degree view set. Do you turn hdr on? Cheers
@Banditmanuk
@Banditmanuk 2 года назад
@@nicksepisode I'm glad the camera worked so well for you. Not overheating and long battery life is my biggest reason for buying. My only advice when filming in 150 is make sure none of your camera mounts sit forward of the recording lens or the stabilisation will sometimes bring it into shot. Also double check which lens you've set for record (yes I've recorded my face) and make sure you've set landcape format. It's worth doing a short test to establish the tilt angle of your camera in 150, I initially set mine looking too low. As for hdr, honestly I've not checked but I use mainly stock settings. On overcast days I do find myself taking the brightness up and I definitely take the audio up in post when compared to the Gopro

Nick, This is a great video. Very nicely done. You know what's amazing here? The fact that I just acquired a 2020 NC750X DCT about two weeks ago and being that I live in the U.S.A., it's an ALL-BLACK UNIT! After doing some research, I have found that there are or were, multiple colors of the 2020 model of the NC. The Canadian versions are WHITE. Yours is apparently an English or maybe I should say British unit and it's BLUE. And what's really crazy here, I just disassembled mine to remove all the BLACK painted parts and have painted them the same exact color as yours, BLUE! Anyway, I'm definitely logging this video in the memory banks to reference when it comes time to change my air filter. It should be quite a while since there's only 2,300 miles on it at present. There sure are a lot of fasteners, both screw type and push-pin type that hold all the body plastic parts on. Your video will definitely aid when it comes time to reassemble mine after paint. Thanks so much for this. SR

good video, i was able to pull off and remount the fairings cuz of this. I noticed on my honda nc750x that there is a gap where you rub at 11:24 . This is the same case for the other side of the bike. I see that where you rub at 11:24 that there is no gap between the 2 panels and it connects smooth to eachother. you might have an idea as to why those 2 panels dont fit smoothly together ? It's the first panel (or the last if u remount everthing) that comes off and creates a gap. my ocd can't handle it.

High flow filters will leave a fine coating of dust in your intake, thottle body, intake valve seats.and will sand down piston rings and cylinders. The stock filter has plenty of flow but needs more air in the box.removing the rubber snokle tube helps a lot.
@nicksepisode

Adding oil to the filter stops this dust, removing the snorkel will do more harm allowing water to enter the filter box.
