Great tips for sourcing denim! I like to shop thrift stores for clothes with unique buttons, zippers and specifically men’s shirts to make bias tape from.

Thank you for the tips. This year, I am reigniting my passion for thrifting and want to focus on denim. I have a few designs in mind so I am on the lookout for the softest, well loved pieces I can find.

In the UK we don't have large second hand shops.They don't accept anything that is stained or damaged but if they don't sell in a specific time frame they sell bulks off to dealers. Your stores look amazing I would spend all day there.One area I always check is underarms to check their not stained in a way that is not always visible.Also the crotch of jeans for the same reason,I also look at the wrong side of the garment.I loved this vlog it was so interesting.I would never think to look in bedding,curtains and scarves. I am a plus size and I think you should look in this section as it makes sense.

I'll add another tip: Think 'child size' --remake adult jeans to fit growning children. The cost of quality jeans for children can be almost as expensive as adult sized jeans. Re-purpose denim fabric. So many uses! ...yeah, even puppy coats. Great video.

I wish thrift stores would do a section of clothing that’s really cheap for Upcycling. You know the stuff that’s probably not going to sell and they know it’s not going to sell, but they have to put it up there anyway.. why not make it available to people who make other things with it? Or people who are so needy that they will make it work? I have done enough Thrifting for resell, that I am fully aware of how much absolute garbage they stick in there with fully ready to wear usable clothing. It’s kind of a shame as most thrift stores don’t really distinguish between good and bad garments they just have a certain price for jeans or shorts or what have you. Even the most inexperienced clothing dortwrs/prices know when they’re putting up stuff that’s probably not gonna sell. All that being said, I am a lifelong thrifter but I have never actually worked in a thrift store so I am speaking with some ignorance of the process.
