Thanks this is a fun project for my granddaughter and I, we make them and she picks out the color for the next one. This knot is good therapy for stiff hands.

After forming this knot flat, it's also possible to turn it into a globe knot by tightening the outer edges.

You make what you call a double coin knot if you look at it you will see that one end comes out on top (this is the working end) you therefore finish the knot off going clockwise when in fact you should be going anticlockwise it is like an overhand knot the end that comes out on top is the working end.

Good start, but the video is lacking detail. How much rope that you use? How do I add a bight to the Turks head? How do I enlarge to make this a trivet instead of a coaster? Sigh this has been a most exhausting search for what seems to be a well-loved design.
