I'm doing well! I hope the video was helpful. I'm cancer free, have a full head of hair, and doing great. Just had a check up in January and I'm healthy. June 4th, 2013 will be the 3 year mark for finishing chemo and I plan to wear a headscarf in honor of all the women fighting cancer and doing it beautifully without a strand of hair on their head:)

My mother was diagnosed with breast cancer 3 months ago and started chemo this week. She insisted on shaving her head so that her hair would be gone on her own terms, not chemo's, but she's had a rough time adjusting. She bought a head scarf because she's embarrassed to show her bald head but couldn't figure out how to wear the darn thing! My sister had talked to her about empowerment from baldness but right now my mom doesn't want to hear that from us. It was incredible to watch my mom's perspective and attitude change while she was watching your video because of how you talked about your own feelings on the exact same subject. You were the "real" voice she needed to hear, so thank you for sharing this video. Your upbeat, positive attitude along with your thoughts on your situation meant more to my mother, and also to me, than words can explain. Wishing you well. :)

I was just complaining to my mom and crying because of my "fat" thighs and my "miserable " relationship with my bf... I came here somehow and now I feel really bad for complaining about such unnecessary things... You're really inspiring and I hope you're doing better! You seem like a person who chooses to live against all odds! 💜💚🙏🏽🙏🏽

David, I want to lift you up as well because an entire family is diagnosed when someone they love is told they have cancer. Kudos for being such an awesome hubby and ultimate support for her.

Hi all, I just had a check up in January and I'm cancer free and feeling great. I'm sorry I'm not better at replying to each comment. I read every comment and I'm often touched by your stories and so happy my video is of some use! I so appreciate hearing each of your stories and they are an inspiration to me, truly. I'm sending good thoughts and energy out into the world for you brave, beautiful, and bald women:)

Thank you for this comment - I have just been scrolling through the comments looking for one from you saying you're ok. My mother and I and our family want to thank you - my mum has a rare (but very treatable) type of lymphoma and starts chemo soon, and has been told she will lose her hair (although it will grow back when her chemo is done in about 6 months). This video was fabulous and we really appreciated your confidence, attitude and sense of humour! As well as the awesome ideas for how to do scarves (we are establishing quite a collection of scarves and so are going to have to have fun trying out different styles!). Thanks for being awesome! x

Hi Esther! You're a sweetie!!! I love your personality and your video was a joy to watch and share with my mother who was also recently diagnosed with breast cancer. She did the big buzz so we're looking for ways to make the change a little more bearable. We laughed together at your video and are excited to try your scarf tying tips. Thank you for sharing and looking forward to more videos even if it's just an update on your progress. Keep posting!

Esther. My wife and I recently found out that she has breast cancer. She is having a lumpectomy as well as radiation, all beginning July 10th. I am so proud of how well she has been through this... family, friends, work... have all be supportive for her. She says she's ready to 'kick cancer's ass'. At the same time, she knows she has a battle. I searched for vids on supporting someone... your video is so inspiring. I can't wait for Tina to watch it. You'll inspire her greatly I'm sure. ty

First off, how adorable are you! Love your energy! Thank you! I, too , have stage 3 breast cancer. I prefer scarves and hats. Not a wig person. So to watch your suggestions was most helpful! I've been playing around to and I'm loving all the looks. I feel very comfortable going out in my scarves and hats with my big girl earrings. Some say I've taken 15 years off in my looks. We will get on the other of this. You are a rock start! Beautiful Lady!

Thanks, Esther! While I'm not undergoing chemo, I'm an older woman and my hair has thinned so much that you and I look just about the same up top! :) I've watched many tutorials on scarf tying... but they are usually done by those with a head full of hair. Your tips are exactly what I needed! Again, thanks for sharing and I'm putting good vibes into the universe for you. (I am a cancer survivor but was fortunate enough for it to have been caught very early... no chemo or rad. You guys are my heros! xo)

Had my 2nd chemo today. The doc & nurse want me to be prepared as they say my hair will be coming out most likely in the next week. As a cancer patient, I'm ready to beat this. As a woman, I am scared. I haven't decided to go with wigs or scarfs and hats. So tonight I did a youtube search on how to wear scarfs & yours is the first one I have watched. I can't begin to tell you how much better I felt. You have a great attitude! And I realize now that my hair doesn't define who I am :) Thank you!

This video changed my life. Well it changed the way I feel about my life. As you can see in my profile picture, my hair was mi biggest "accessory". It was always different, colors, extensions, cuts, etc. Losing my hair to cancer was heart breaking. Some people can really pull off that "I lost my hair to cancer and I can rock the bald look like nobodys business" look, but I am not one of them. Thank you for this amazing video. And for helping me find my new accessory. YOU ROCK!

We just love your style. You are so creative. Your accessories and the way you put your head scarfs on have been so impressive. My mother has just started losing her hair. They have given her some free hats at the hospital and she is supposed to go and look for some free wigs. She never ever knew how beautiful people can look with the scarves, as well as, the accessories. She was so impressed with you and your video and what you did with your scarves and accessories. We thank your precious honey. So sweet and so caring. We pray healing for you and pray that you are recovering. We would love updates.

Came across your video while looking for ways to use a scarf to keep my very tangly hair out of my face and contained while it grows back out. I don't have cancer, I donated my hair for the fifth time to Wigs for Kids and the stylist who cut it ignored my telljng her I needed to be able to keep it back in a short braid so I can take baseball caps on and off (I get migraines from overhead lights). She cut it so short I can't even keep it all contained in pigtails so now I am rocking the head scarves for the next few months in solidarity with those who have received my hair donations. Thank you particularly for the T-shirt tip, my skin reacts to synthetics so that gives me a way to go save some money by opening up thrift store shirts as an option. Hope you are well on your way to abundant health and a long happy life!

Yesterday I went it to work with a scarf and felt really self conscious. i'm going to post this to my favorites so i can watch this again when i need some inspiration. Hope you are living life to it's fullest.

Ester thank u do much for ur video. My mom got diagnosed with breast cancer on March 2013... And after her first treatment her hair fell off. So it was a must for me as her only child and her best friend to make her feel better so we got a wig but as u know urself that theirs times when u just don't feel like wearing a wig so my next plan was headscarves, I went crazy on buying her all kinds but didn't know how wrap them on. So I found ur video and know I can wrap some on her head and mine. Thanks so much honey. And best wishes hope all goes well. Stay strong.

So inspiring! My hair started falling out on the weekend and until listening to you, I was in a dilemma as whether to shave it off or just wait! But thank you - feel I'm ready to cut it and dump it rather than leave it all over the house :)

Hi Esther! My niece, missytgould1, who recently posted here, posted this link to your video on my sister's cancer site sponsored by the hospital. I'm hundreds of miles away, and can't be there. I have been non-stop crying since she sent the pics of the hair balls yesterday. Your video is truly inspirational and uplifting to me, as I am sure it was to my sister. Thank you for being so brave and forthright to help sooooo many who will view this. God Bless, and continued remission! Jamie

Thank you for your video! My mum is going through chemo now and we are encouraged by you, how instead of focusing on the sickness, you positively deal with it and creatively came up with the different ways to look beautiful and glorious! We are blessed by your sharing! God bless you!!

Definitely helpful. Gold star for you ))). I'm slowly losing my hair, thinning for no apparent reason. Dermatologist has the same problem so is no help. Acquaintance at convention wore lovely scarves, so I'm less annoyed with the likelihood of losing more or all. "Old Lady Comb Over" and bun is still working, mostly. I've been saving brushings for years to make a wig of my own hair.. Williamsburg technique... laborious. Your scarf tutorial is just what I need to take the angst out of it. )))

i want to say i commend u very much so i spent my fathers day this year (2013) for a st baldricks fund. we raised $12,000 for this foundation in hopes to catching cancer with children and finding a cure. needless to say I am a 27 year old female shavee and i came to look for ways to use a headscarf and ur video helped. I am proud of the statement i made when i made the choice to shave my head and i stand by it proud its just my work doesn't agree, i just wanted to say thank you for the help
