You should try using a dubbing loop instead of a noodle. Fly fish food has some good tutorials on it. It would help reduce the amount of dubbing you use and also allow you to have longer pieces of dubbing to tease out.

Hey Zach, thanks for the comment! Dubbing loops are great, and for full-size leeches, they work very well. However, for micro leech on a size 14 jig hook, it's a bit overkill. I'm not saying you can't use a dubbing loop it would definitely still work. I've just found that over the years, I just prefer this method.

Tie the fly smaller on the bigger hooks too , make them sparse I’ve got balanced leeches that have been killing it since before they were popular Micro leech has landed me some tanks over the years from trout to carp Indicator or not you can strip them in too without the indicator baby tap tap strips on the line

I've caught some nice fish using those short strips without an indicator as well! I also like to use a sink tip line while using that method! especially when the fish are holding deeper!

@@Dr.FlyFilms I’ve been tying a whole lot of meat flies recently playing with bucktail Musky shanks on 1/0+ j hooks Using the bucktail as a weed guard All the species will hit what I’ve been tying , it’s all about place and time !

That's awesome! And yeah, I definitely agree! Place, time, and depth are a lot more important than fly selection
