Hint for those trying - do not look into the mirror while doing it, just follow the video, you'll make it on your first try :) Afterwards, adjust the steps in the mirror to make it look good! Great knot and great video :)

For the first time in my life I saw someone with this knot out in real life. I’ve seen probably thousands of men wearing ties, but that was the 1st Eldridge knot. If you take the time to learn this people will absolutely notice it! Such a great looking knot.

I got it on my second try! Some tips: leave a LOT of room for the skinny part of the tie. Play the video in a slower speed. Pay attention to which side is showing after each step, the seam side or the front smooth flat side. Good luck!!

Love this! Took me a couple tries in the mirror, but now I can do it on both myself and others without even needing it! I had to use a thinner/silky tie so as to have enough material, but as long as I remember to always pull to the right (mostly) I’m good!!

Isn’t it odd that people actually give a fuck about what your knot looks like? People stick to the half Windsor cause it’s the easiest but as the night goes on and the alcohol flows more, no one cares cause they are too buckled. Lol. Side story: I did the Eldridge knot for an interview and they took it negatively. Said it looked too playful. Still got the job doee ✌️

For those trying to do this for the first time: You will probably run out of tie. Make sure you have a long one and on the first attempt just get the fat end to the height of your ribcage or nipple so you are sure it won't run out. Afterwards you can attempt a second time and gauge how far down you can put the fat end.

Thanks for all this. Nice videos, nice variety of knots. I have attempted doing these in front of only the monitor but it is much easy with a mirror around. Also, if I might add, a slight pause between steps to give us newbies a bit more time to assimilate would be great as well, especially with the more intricate knots such as the Eldredge. Keep it up.

Thank you! Fantastic video. Beacuse it is mirrored, one can simply play it in slow motion and see all moves like in mirror. Thanks to this I finished this tie in one only attempt. And yes take longer tie, narrow end shoud be palm-lenght above the knee.

I'd reccomend against it. This tie knot looks highly unprofessional, and I've never seen it used in a serious circumstance. Stick with the four in hand or Windsor knot. I work in the banking industry btw

Like the look but I can't get it to work with 90% of the ties I own due to length. You have to have super long ties for this, not sure how the folks saying otherwise are getting away with it unless they never need their whole tie's length normally. I'm 6'3" and can't stand the look when the finished tie doesn't come down far enough, so... I can't make this work with my standard length ones or even some of my tall ones.

I work as a door man currently and decided I wanted to do something a little extra, I'm psyched to have a dope looking tie knot on my next shift. For a little extra help pinch the wide end of tie in hand like how it looks in the end photo, have it a few cm short of how long you want it and tie the thin end smooth and tight.

This is fascinating, and i will definitely try it, but the directions are reversed which is very jarring. When you say "bring it to the right," but have the model bring the end to his _left,_ that adds confusion, not clarity. I end up not knowing which way to go. It probably doesnt matter as long as I'm consistent, but it's certainly frustrating.

Do not attempt with a school tie since it is very likely that your cheap ass school principal or whoever handles the uniform decided to buy some btec ties where the thinner end is like a packaged hot dog and doesn’t get just a little bit wider instead of just adding five pounds to the already £110 uniform which is already shit and the blazer will fall apart as soon as you step outside.
