@@surffishinginsocal lol.. I dunno about all that.. once upon a time, I actually used trap hook rigs back in my kayak days.. not much need for them these days for me though, thank goodness, lol

If you live in SW Washington, you'd be better off tying and regular salmon mooching rig for your fishing around your area, when you're fishing bait (herring). You can tie it either with the top hook sliding, or with the top hook solid tied. Just YT it. But, you can use THIS method for bobber dogging or side drifting. Ex.. Soft bead on the top hook and then tie another leader like this video, but longer, for a second soft bead, or yarn ball. Not to get too confusing. But definitely use a mooching rig tie for bait.
