Replacement arrived!By the way, I did forget to mention that the original lure did have a decent strike however as most anglers will attest you can get a hit ru-vid.comUgkxCbNOWAGmn6nfbCbJDmasvBq7J38KZNw2 and fish will hang on and release lure. I used the replacement lure yesterday and ran thru a Shimano Waxwing, Kastmaster, Bobber (set to sink). I found the does run deep (I casting on the flats 3.5'). Make sure you adjust your rate of retrieve and rod tip angle (up) to prevent getting snagged on bottom. Used it a couple of times and action was very lifelike (looked like local bait fish for trevally), craftsmanship very good....however eyeball fell out. I asked for replacement and it is on it's way! It was very easy to change out treble to single inline hook.

Thanks! Caught good blue and whiting with this rig on the OBX this weekend using circle hooks and cut bait. Everyone else was using way too complicated store bought steel leader rigs and the fish wouldn't touch them.

@@shmack757 I've been out there the past 3 weekends. Still new to the area and trying to find more spots. There's always a lot of people with lines in the water, but I've only seen 1 guy land 1 blue fish, that's it. Doesn't give me a lot of hope for the spot. It's just convenient to park and at.

That looks nice, but my only question is, with a hook on a double line, is it not twice as easy for the fish to see the line? I have seen some people cut the loops and then tie on a hook. I would think that the less line visible, the better?? Thanks

Don’t buy em bro over time those rigs will not last and cost way to much. Buy some decent fluorocarbon and learn knots on RU-vid . And you will have your own handcrafted rig not some Chinese line with metal clips.

(!) Beware, this knot seriously weakens your rig. If line breaks it always does it on this knot. I think its strength something like 50% of your line strength. Just pull and you'll see. The other bad thing that when using it with heavy weights, like you do for surf fishing, you have to replace this rig regularly. With a number of casts it weakens your line even more and at some point the line just breaks (at this knot, as always) This knot is quick and convenient, but 3 way swivel with uni knots is MUCH more durable and longer lasting replacement. Please up-vote so people see this.

While you aren't wrong about it weakening the line, depending on the line you're using and fish you're targeting, it's a lot more economical to tie a dropper or a T-knot rather than using 3-way swivels. For example I target surf perch with 20lb mono and have yet to lose a rig in the surf.

@@DRTMaverick Agree! The knot is very fast and easy to tie and I use it but it is important to know its weaknesses. I usually have a couple of spare rigs tied this way. If we are talking about hobby fishing where the most expensive is your time spent, not swivels. And the most inconvenient is how much time it takes to tie swivels enforced bottom rig. Is there a replacement without swivels and loosing line strength? Yes, IDK its name, but you can make a loop on your leader and put your mainline into the loop, then make 2 knots preventing it from sliding up and down. Does this tie always better than T-knot - depends on your line. But one has to know his knots.

Start over and slow down. How are you creating a new loop on the first one? It’s the same loop.
