@@videojoeshows I used to get locksmith calls for handles falling off to the restroom. Nothing like getting locked in...or out.

Sorry but I don't remember the size allen wrench I used but then again all door handles are not created equal so your door handle could be a different size than mine anyway. Hmmmm. I wish I could actually see your handle so I could tell you but I would think your outside trim piece could be removed on that side or the other side of the door to where you could then tighten up the entire body of the handle unit to fix your issue....? Not sure. Here's something you could do if you like...I created a facebook group page called DIY Home Improvement Made Easy & you could join it & then you can post a few pics of the handle (both sides of the door) & post your question again there so I can actually see the handle so I could then tell you what to do....as a thought. Tried mine, both holes inside and out already very tight. Don’t want to strip them. Am I missing something or do I just have the wrong size Allen wrench? Seems to be a perfect snug fit and my door looks very similar to yours.

Are you just referring to the handle that is loose like the way the one on the video was loose?....or is the entire base of the body of the handle assembly loose? If it's just the lever on the handle then try loosening the set screw first to see if it will in fact move then try to tighten then back off then tighten again to see if it will go tighter with the though thinking it could be rusted in place....? Let me know how you do but it would seem to me the set screw should make your door handle get tighter for sure....

@@videojoeshows Hey Joe thanks for getting back. Yes, the handle is loose exactly the same way as yours. Found the right Allen key, I mean it fits snug in there but it won’t budge either to tighten or loosen and that’s both sides. The door is only a couple years old, no rust. Still looks new. What the hey? 🤔😂 Those holes have to be there for a reason I reckon. WD-40 or something to loosen those screws up?

Wha if you use hex to tighten internal screw and it gets loose again?

Sometimes that will happen. Try a little tighten without twisting the allen wrench handle. My handle loosens up every once in awhile depending on how often you will use that particular door. I've had to tighten this same handle at least 4 times over the course of three years. I have more door handle & door videos for more learning. @@lorinaiverson3376 I hear you but most of the time you can buy them in cheap sets then you will have some for next time you might need one. You could also get a set them bring them home to see what size you need then take those back to the store & just buy the one size. as a thought.

Ha! They generally hide all of these little things so you don't have to see them. I'm glad I looked under the handle since I was thinking I might have to pull the entire door handle apart to figure out how to tighten up the door handle. It’s ridiculous a standard allen wrench won’t work, which is why I miss the days of the 60s and 70s when you can repair things without all this silly metric stuff!

Yea I guess I was lucky in the fact when I got a new set of allen wrenches I broke down & got the metric ones in the same set for just this reason...!
