Thanks for the video , I watched a few videos of your , so far you did a fantastic job. Very detail , you're a very good instructor, I hope I can do this kind of work. thanks again and keep it coming .
Went for my inspection here in Dutchess County NY today, and the nanny state is now having inspection stations enforce the tint laws. Mine was about 24%, has to be 30% or higher on sedans front and rear sides. Due to a check point set up by the troopers just outside the place where I have it done, I had no choice but to borrow a blade and remove the tint in the parking lot before getting the car inspected. My question is, what brand tint do you prefer, I want to get 35%. Thanks, you do good work, it's a good talent, keep it up.
Been tinting residential & commercial for over 20years. Tryed a few cars but at the time just wasn't my thing. Man the money I've lost by telling people only residential and commercial🤑🤑. I've been with the same company all these years and realy don't carry car film. I'm looking to pick up a little side gig. Well if I have time. Been crazy busy down here in Charleston SC. I'm going to subscribe to you..looking forward to some new ones
Hi Sean.. great videos. I'm been watching videos about the shrinking process for the back window and noticed everyone has different techniques. can you upload a video of yours to check your technique?
Hi, just wanted to say that great work, and great detailed explanation. In case people wanna know, those Olfa knives I have seen them in stock at Home depot and the blades too. At least here in Washington state.
Carbon will 100% scratch the glass and 50% chance stainless steel will leave a very faint mark as well. It's all about controlling your pressure and angle. Get all supplies from windowtintsupplies.com :)
Thank you for the link, and I hope everyone reads these comments. So people are aware about staying on the safe side and try to purchase only stainless steel blades.
Great video bro! Can you make a video of a 08-14 Honda Accord quarter glass? Do you remove the quarter glass to tint or cut the film before the rubber gasket? Thank you again I love your videos. Keep up the good work
Santana Moss anything in the tint is a 'contaminate' like dirt, dust, etc. If u truly cleaned the glass properly its possible your using too little soap in your mix? Try using more soap in the mixture as it helps when using a bluecard move out the water w/ contaminates too.
when tinting some Mercedes-Benz the inside bottom seal sit below the outside bottom seal. when trimming the tint along the outside seal what is the best method to assure that you cut the tint long enough to tuck it under that recess inside seal?
Hey Sean. Thanks for the quick reply with the quarter glass. If you come across a frameless window can you show how to cut out the rounded corner edge of the glass properly. Example. 2010 mustang
hey i started tinting myself from learning from your videos. im pretty good at now but the only thing is i have a hard time using my teeth to separate the tint. i have to use my knife to get it separated sometimes.
I have used the tape method. take 2 small pieces of Scotch tape or masking tape and put one on the clear liner side and the other on the tint film then pull apart to get the liner off. I usually use my knife also but I don't care for that
Preciate that that showed me a lot I was having my blade like 2 to 3 break off when I was making my cuts and do you use the hp smoke tint thanks again you tha best
I'm glad that helped you solve the issue you where having. I personally don't like the smoke line of solar Gard as it is a much lower quality and especially with limo it begins to look blue. I stick to charcoal.
Hey Sean, another cool video. I only subscribed awhile ago. Quick question for you, Why does there seem to be so much loathing in the tint industry? I have seen videos where people have been absolutely flamed for the way they tint, but the result seems fine. It would turn people off putting up videos so glad you still do :)
Hey glad you enjoy my videos. There is a lot of "haters" as I call them in the tinting industry lol. Everyone has their own method of the art and most tinters don't agree with each others methods regardless of how well they work because they are so used to how they work on the daily basis. Just ignore the competition and go with your own flow if that's what's working. Tint on bro
Another great video, I have 1 concern though . I know we need to spray the film and glass liberally, but is there concern about liquid getting into the panels and maybe getting into electricals? Thank you for your response and great video I will be taking my wife's car to be tinted and I've been learning lots of tips from you. Have a wonderful day.
Hey, Thank you for watching and taking the time to reach out to me. The water that is sprayed n the glass and goes down into the door is the same place rain water would go so it is designed to be able to drain from the bottom of the door without any damage.
Hi I'm havin trouble with tint.i seem to be havin air bubbles only up the sides of a window and its not all the time but I cant get rid of the bubbles unless I remove the tint and as time goes on the bubbles become more any info would be grateful cheers
Hey Sean. What is your method for tinting a Ford F350 driver/passenger "s" shaped window? I seem to be having a harder time cutting those out. I have only been tinting for about a year and this is the first one I came across.
Sean, do you know how to use coins to hold back the seal to slide down the film on a rear wind down window? I have heard many talk about it but never seen it done.
omg does it always have the plastic thingy that should be removed so it sticks on the windows, i have always just put it the way it is never thoght of that
Kraig Eyrolles hey good question. im glad you asked before trying them out.. carbon olfa blades will cut into and permanently damage the glass. I have actually seen it happen first hand where a tinter at another shop in my area used a carbon blade to cut all of the windows on a car and it ended up costing him $1800 to replace all of the glass on the vehicle. Stick to stainless steel and always make sure you have a fresh break on the blade when cutting on glass also make sure not to press too hard. it doesn't take much pressure to cut through the film with a new blade.
This is going to sound silly but when you say soapy water what do you mean because it can’t have ammonia right? So can I use fairy liquid or baby shampoo??
Really nice tint. :) i have a small tinting business im having a lot of problem with dust very small dirty i tint cars inside my open garage how can i fix that problem ??
Thanks Sean. One more question that adds on to the dot matrix question. I recently did a mazda protege for a friend and it has like a 4 inch strip of dot matrix across the top of the rear glass. I saw lots of work arounds on the Internet but was wandering how you deal with a big strip on dot matrix?? Thank you
If it really bothers the customer I will cut out the dot matrix area when trimming the film after shrinking then once it is installed on the inside I apply a strip of black vehicle wrap vinyl on the inside of the window covering the matrix and slightly overlapping the tint creating a nice black look.
Why didn’t you have to shrink it? I would have had like 5 fingers if I did that without shrinking the Tint. I am just getting started and I’m using Tint from Walmart, is that the problem or what am I doing wrong?
badass1g the need to shrink film in a window to window basis as every window has different shapes and curves. On the other hand the Gila window film at Walmart is not a Great material in many ways.
Window Tint Warriors ok thank you. Where is a good place for me to buy some film at a decent price and a decent quality? I don’t need top notch stuff since I’m still learning. What brands are half decent?
Hi recently subscribed, great channel, how do you get around the silver halo left around tint where the dot matrix is on some rear windows and rear side windows?
There's really no way around the look of the dot Matrix when tinting over them. The dots are raised off the glass and the tint sticks to the dots not the glass In those areas giving it that appearance from the outside. Every car with tint has that white look with the dot matrix so it's a common issue and someone you just have to basically get used to. Once there is a solution though I will most definitely make a video of it.
I am sorry, we don't carry stainless steel blades. they are not necessary because you are using the flat edge on the glass to clean. If you whee using the pointed edge of a carbon blade then yes that would be an issue. thats why we use stainless steel olfa blades when cutting film.
It would be great if you could slow down your talking when explaining how tos. Some of your wording is hard to understand. Otherwise, everything else is good.
