I’ve used Vorshlag studs with the 5mm hex nose. I apply a little loctite and zip it in with a small impact. Never had a stud come out or break in the past 13 years.

I have been telling people to NOT re-torque while hot for decades! Finally someone else understands and agrees! For studs without drylock, I brake clean soak 10x studs in a spray can lid at a time to clean them, air blast them, and use brake clean in the holes after chasing. DO NOT forget to shake the locktite between each application. It separates.

Great video. Just put a set of these studs on my car two weeks ago with the same process. If you look at the jam nuts, you’ll notice that one side is smooth, and the other side has markings. I find it works better if the smooth sides are together so you get maximum tightness on the nuts. You can’t get as much friction on the marked side.

Which thread chaser can I use and recommendations? I looked at the duralast one from autozone says is for spark plugs. Will this work? Thanks

When I put on your wheel studs, I couldn't get the two jam/install nuts tight enough to get to 55 ft/lbs of torque - the nuts would spin. I think I only got to around 40 but that was about a year ago. I don't think that I am a whimp and couldn't get the nuts tight enough...not sure what was going on there. Thoughts on this?
