@@gonzac36 Tow mode is all I use. The car shuts off once enabled and the wheels / steering stays unlocked. Some people say to use track mode + tow mode for the cooling systems but I never had an issue overheating. Main problem is that you have no toad brakes. If you run a line to pull on the pedal then it could "wake up" the car prematurely. Tesla could easily fix this in software.
@@BoshBargnani I can’t say definitively. I’ve seen it done before and in theory since there are no rubbing parts because it’s an induction motor it should be fine.
@@gonzac36The thing is, Im a flatbed tow truck driver and most tow truck drivers will not touch an electric car with a dead battery. I have to be absolutely sure. Ive seen videos of rivians getting bricked from getting pulled by a winch. Can't be "maybe" for me since the tow truck driver is liable for the damages.

is it true you shouldn't tow this cars backwards? What happens if for example, you can only access the car from the back and batteries are dead? would you just have to hook up tow hooks in the rear and which out?
If the car doesn’t have power you can put your jump box on the 12 V battery to get the car into Neutral. If all fails you would have to put it on a wrecker with dollies or use skates to put it on to the tow truck
Fortunately, this car is just like BMW or Mercedes with the automatic electric brakes. You essentially have to put it either on a flatbed or a wheel lift with dollies not cause any damage.
Hello, I'm concerned if my tesla get tow due to illegal parking without notify me. The car can get serious damage if transport mode is not on when someone tow tesla. Is that right ?
As long is the car is towed properly it doesn’t need to be in tow mode. Tow mode is only necessary when the vehicle needs to roll. If the car is put up on dollies, it shouldn’t cause any damage as far as I know.
You didn't give us any helpful hints. Would you actually use one of those eyelids to pull a car all the way up your bed? I know I've seen them snap in person. So when it's completely dead and you can't just tell the computer to put it in transfer mode. What then?
Yes, we have skids the we can put under your tires. So the car moves without the tires rolling. May I recommend not parking illegally to avoid this issue.
How about towing a Tesla without the owner present? Such as with a trespass tow. In that situation you have no key card, phob or access via the app. Also no access to the frunk to get the tow hook
This is an excellent question. I’ve actually towed many Tesla’s without key cards or owners present. I would contact Tesla directly to unlock the car. So can put it into tow mode. But I’ve never done anything like a repossession. so I have no idea what the complication behind that would be
@@1HotLegendLS Yeah unfortunately the only way to take one of those cars out like that it would have to be on a set of dollies and a wrecker to do the job quickly and efficiently but it cannot be towed like that for a long distance
