Packaging: It came in a sturdy rectangular cardboard box that said Yoga on it. ru-vid.comUgkxZkaD2JsPC-fUMkF3vxJ2echoiXZ3T9aM I didn't like how it let possible package thieves know what might be contained inside but great packaging otherwise. The yoga mat came rolled up in a plastic wrap, which was fairly easy to remove.Contents: I got the green yoga mat and it came with an adjustable velcro carrying strap already secured to the mat. There was also a warranty card. There was a bit of a plastic smell coming form the yoga mat but it quickly dissipated after using it once.I've only used the yoga mat twice so far but I am loving it. It's such a game changer to my work outs, especially compared to my bed and floor, haha! I can confirm that it very thick, slip resistant, and comfortable. i didn't look at the dimensions prior to buying the mat, but it is so much longer than I expected! Width is normal size in my opinion. I don't know if it really is tear resistant yet... only time will tell!
I just got a German Shepherd puppy. I have been watching several videos. I really like yours. You get straight to the training. Showing people how to do it instead of talking, talking, talking and more talking. Thank you
I'm having a blast teaching my pup basic commands but you have definitely made it more rewarding for the both of us. Your videos have been helping tremendously. Thanks a bunch. I'm seeing a bunch of posts of folks wanting to buy a trained K9 but I know best that the journey best traveled is the one traveled together. Max and I trust each other and I know that makes for the best working relationship.
I grew up utilizing the Blanche Saunders and Monks of New Skete dog training techniques since the 70s. My dogs have always been quick at listening and very well behaved and obedient. I recently acquired a King shepherd puppy and have been crate/treat/praise training for the first time and i am amazed how quickly He is learning and less frustrated I am in teaching! I love your method and how much you praise your dogs! You are an excellent teacher....Thank you!! I am a follower in your method!
watching these videos to train my puppy and can't stop laughing about how my dad trained our other dog. instead of "place" he just says in a weird batman voice, "go to your bed." and she'll go
Hahaha!!! I have the same voice but I call it my Samurai voice.... same voice, but it gets the job done.... anyone who has a dog needs a voice like that. So the dog knows you mean business.... It is more important for woman. Not a higher pitch when the dog does something right...
Bless you for this!! I was starting to stress because my pup just wasn’t getting it with this other method.. This is so much more intuitive! She got it in one!
Your videos are phenomenal. I'm researching what kind of dog to get and am learning towards a German Shepherd. What was the kind of dog at the very end of the video? Which dog do you recommend? I'm looking for a protective, smart, very social dog. I'm a social, protective, family guy and want a dog to reflect that.
Hi i would defiantly recomend a GSD (German shepherd dog) they tick all your criteria and is a good guard dog but is also gentle with kids and other pets if trainned properly, but they also shed alot! and need to be brushed regularly and can also be proned to hip and elbow dysplasia as well as dwarfisim, but if you find a good and resposnible breeder (or you could adopt) you can avoid that. you also need to make sure the dog has alot of mental and physical exercise and trainning, german shepherds need mental stimulation as well as physical because they can get really bored and can chew on furntiture and can also be loud when bored but is genrally quiet if not bored, I CAN NOT STATE THIS ENOUGH! PLS MAKE SURE TO DO REGULER WALKS AND RUNS! MAKE SURE TO GO TO DOG PARKS AND GIVE IT ALOT OF EXERCISE, but of course give it rest👍 and also make sure to do research about this breed as just buying a german shepehrd or any dog really without proper knowlage will result in catastrophic events. (WARNING: I AM NOT A PROFESSIONAL JUST GIVING MY KNOWLAGE ABOUT THE BREED)
how long does a "training session" with the dog last? 10 minutes, once a day? 5 minutes 5 times a day? How long should I be spending on each command per day?
What is the purpose of "place" or maybe the better question is, when do you send a dog to "place"? And what happens if "place" has to change in the future (ie. the original place is damaged/destroyed and has to be replaced)? Do you typically have to start all over with them learning the new "place" or do most dogs get the concept quickly with a replacement "place"? I suppose it might depend on each dog. Btw, I don't have a dog (I have had several dogs in the past and plan to get another one as soon as I have the time to devote - right now our lives are a little too hectic) but I so enjoy your training techniques. It's interesting to watch and you appear to really love what you do. :-)
You can use a "place" cue for lots of things, mainly whenever you'd want your dog to basically stay in one spot but can be comfortable doing so and holding it for long periods of time in advanced training. I.e. if company is over and not into dogs, or you're at someone's house and want them to be contained, etc. You can also generalize this cue to different surfaces and beds but it you have to break it back down some for them to understand, especially if you've always worked on one specific surface. :)
I use place when cleaning up quickly, vacuuming, sometimes rushing around to get dressed. The times that normally a dog would be causing you to trip over yourself when you are moving around. Also if someone comes to the door or you are bringing things in like groceries. Sometimes during meals. It’s great
@@keelyaald how do you make them stay longer? just bring them back to place/mat? Or would you reduce the time and release the dog with "free" and then increase the time again?
I’m trying to use the place instruction for when I’m cooking/cleaning/people come home so that my girl stays until I say the release word - mainly so she can be near me but not wandering around free when I’m not wanting her to get into mischief 😂 nothing worse than tripping over a dog when cooking 😂

i would like to know after how long do you stop giving treats ? and what if you stop giving treats and your dog stop listening to you because he sees he aint gettint treats anymore do you have to restart the whole process ??
+shad0wx0x0 I first started with treats, then replace them with toys and them without'em. Anyway you can stop giving him treats, but not suddently. I recomend you to do it giving them less and less treats, but slowly. You can also give them lots of mimes if they do it right. Hope I helped you! (Sorry if I made spelling mistakes, I'm Spanish)
Good afternoon, I was wondering if you could make a video on how to use this "place" training to get a dog to go to or under a place/area even if a mat or bed is not visible in the spot?
So my dad is planing on getting a dog we are choosing from Doberman, Rottweiler, and german shepherd will all these trading videos work for all these dog breeds
You are really good at what you do. My only question ex: sit command not sure how long it took you to teach the dog to sit in the video its hard to tell the time it took you...
BlackStangPat the sit command is very easy to teach a dog, it usually take about 5 minutes to teach your dog this, lay down is pretty much the same, other command take longer.
From a very non professional standpoint I can say that every dog is different...(I did mention very non-professional, I hope.) They all have their own personalities, in my opinion, like we do and some take longer than others...patience has been my saving grace....Best of luck!
I didn't see where you told the dog to lay down after he got on the mat. Since I have hand commands for some behaviors, once my dog is on the mat can I just give my hand command for her to lay down?
Yes yes yes! You should get to the point, that all you need do is point to the mat and he does it... Can you point to the crate, and he goes? Then the mat should be the same....
My dog is confusing "place" with lay down. Every time I say "place", he immediately lays down. How do I get him to pay attention to what the "place" is?
I got ahead with my dog's training after reading " Forward Fast Dog Training ". Found out how to stop my dog from jumping on people. Learned that you quick turn your back on the dog when they jump and leave the room through the door. When dog finally stops jumping you give him a treat.
Sahiba Parveen i don’t know if you got the issue solved or not but “yelping” really loud when they bite and walking away and turning your back to them will make them understand biting you will lead to less attention which is bad
I am a Muslim and I live in Algeria. I have watched the way you were trained and liked. I want to buy a small dog. I want to work on your own style. If you have a website like Facebook or Instagram, I want to talk to you. Thank you.
You probably want to train for about 5 minutes then give them a break. It will take lots of repetitions but over time they will learn. Starting out with treats is great and as they get better, you can give them a treat on every other time they do it. Then every third or forth time. Mix it up that way they don't expect it every time. Of course this is done after they get the hang of it.
I really like how you use a mat and not a big bed to place to.. But if you have the sit command down pat and can have your dog sit and go down anyplace you want, I would think if you had these two commands down and with a hand signal it would be easy to get them to place on the mat. The hardest part would be to get them to stay on the mat. But if you had these commands down pat, and keep an eye on them, it might not be all that hard.... Can you kennel your dog (cage up!) and keep the door open? Then place should not be that hard.... Train with love not food..... Sorry, I had to say that....
🤣I'm not sure how it happened but all I have to do when we want my dog to go to her dog bed, we just say "go home" but honestly we have associated it to a bad thing, so if she is doing something wrong we'll tell her to go home.
Watching the video to get hints on how to get my wild child pups to do a reliable Place. So I look over and what are they doing? Perfect down stay on Place. 🙄
Treats, or "cookies" are phased out. You can see in the second part of the video the dog goes to "place" without a treat, but gets a treat after they've held a stay and have released. The dog will continue to develop and you will continue to phase out treats.
You guys are funny. People’s dogs severely bite them all the time. Usually it’s due to the handler not knowing a dogs body language or say the dog is resource aggressive to say a toy and the handler just reaches in and grabs it etc There’s a ton of diff scenarios Does it happen a lot? No of course not Does it happen? Yes But to answer OPs question of “what happens if your dog bites your hand off” Well you’ll only have to buy one glove in the winter so you’re already saving money
Why would you teach a “climb” and a “place” as separate entities? They are exactly the same surely? As long as your dog knows place and you cary the heights of the place commands you use then he will get it anyway? It seems like you are just adding an extra item in for no apparent reason?
I tried teaching this to our shiba. He attacks whatever we use: bed, blanket, mat. He just attacks anything and won't focus on the actual command... Help! ahah!
I would suggest scheduling games of tug of war a few times per day and especially before a training session. Also, make sure he is hungry before a training session. if you need further guidance feel free to go to our website.
I’m only 41 seconds in but it seems to me as if you’re basically teaching the dog how to lay down on command but instead of a floor you’re putting a blanket or towel etc down
OMG!!!! WE THINK ALIKE!!! they make a big deal over a sit and stay on this mat or bed.... its just a sit and stay with a down.... If your dog can't do that, he is a monster.... save yourself! lock him in the cage!!!!!
@@waynethebarber1095 3 years later and I totally agree with you haha it’s just a down stay. I mean you could use place as some ppl would say crate or bed etc But for the most part you’re correct it’s just a down stay It’s funny how much I’ve learned since my original comment haha and great minds eh? Oddly enough I’m going to see my barber after I do some house chores haha
@@cloud_monkey422 hahaha about the barber, remember to give him a nice tip...hahaha It seem like every few years people have to change things to make them look good. Like they have 4he new great way... This will be my third lab I've learned a lot over the last two so I'm really excited about training this one. Thanks for the note back. Enjoy your haircut!!!
@@waynethebarber1095 haha I always tip too well that’s why I don’t go out to eat lol I worked in food for 16 years haha And you should check out my chihuahua. She’s pretty cool for an old lady. This video was the start....since this vid shes now 12 years old and knows her commands in English, Spanish, German and some hand signals. Has a vocabulary of roughly 300 words (off the top of my head. Things like ball, treat etc) She was a service dog but now just does cool tricks once in awhile and still works at home for me This vid also there are things like the light switch she completed and would jump up on a chair to turn the lights on and off but I changed that later to a lamp with a touch switch on the base that sits on the floor ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-FufreEi4o8Q.html
1. This is a great video thanks for making it simple. I was trying it using a leash but my dog just got excited to walk 2. You are totally hot I would like to buy dinner. WOO!
+caryn martin Doesnt matter! The dog is doing what it is supposed to do. If the treat is the motivator , that's fabulous. With consistency, treats can slowly be weaned away from and the reward can be praise. *Most* dogs learn with treat motivators !
King Hassan - Absolutely. But, be prepared to pay $$$$$ for it. (our "trained companion" level dogs start at $10k and require a 2-week transitional phase in which we come out everyday and help the new owners become very accustomed on how to handle their new dog. Also, this 2-week period helps the dog behind familiar with the diffent command tones and etc of the new owners. Then, we come out once monthly for 6-months, for tune-ups and troubleshooting of any issues or inconsistencies the new owners have.) Just find a reputable training outfit that specializes in this very field (producing fully trained dogs for the family home) and you'll be good to go. Most K9 training outfits will also assist you in gouging you a trained dog if you plan it 12 months in so in advance. They'll just produce the obedience and etc, and leave out the bitework. Now, if YOU ARE wanting bitework included, then that means you're looking for a PPD (personal protection dog). In this case, it's the same process, except the dollar value goes up TREMENDOUSLY for a very precision trained dog like you're asking for. (around $15k starting, all the way up to $35k for a fully finished "110% reliable" PPD.) Hopefully this helps anyone in the future reading this.
Alright there! Have you ever tried - Burdan Gifted Canine Expert (Dog and Puppy Training) do a google search? Ive heard some extraordinary things about it and thousands of dog owners have realized great results with it.
that pup was still in training, for the purpose of the video they showed you the end result of the training mentioned that takes longer then the video would take to complete

Actually anyone who says yes is lying to you..it all depends on the breed of the dog. No matter how much you train a dog you can curb aggression but can't train aggression out. its genetics
I always heard that service dogs cost a lot of money but I didn’t know they cost that much money lol My chihuahua must be about a years worth of rent money lol
