This happened to me once and it was so annoying having to do all sorts of bullshit just to get my plugins go work again. I even had to send emails to lots of companies and ask to unregister some of my licences so i could register again because some got "stuck".
If it's Waves Plugins, you have an ability to "recover" the license from Waves Central. They allow you do to that I believe once a year? This is gonna be a bitch and I'm not looking forward to it because I've bought my fair share of vsts and plugins. lol I'm building a new pc and looked this up cuz it was the first thing I thought about. That i9 and 4070 will make it worth it in the long run tho.
Holy * that is so much that you have to do I thought the ilok was ment so all you had to do was plug it in to usb and BAM 💥. Everything in back on your stuff from every daw you own.
Dang. That sucks. Hmm... The most I could tell you is that whenever there is an installation, or content ( like Nexus content, or Omnisphere 2 etc.) You can create a path in an External HDD to store the files there for the programs to load. Same goes for sound samples that you download. You can drag the folder into FL Studio's browser window if you use FL, and it will link the sounds straight to it to use!
And wish it was easy! T_T lol Due to registration and avoiding piracy, attacking licenses to the motherboard or internet card was a plus for them. Hope everything works out for ya!
@@OmoiSenpai any input on running external ssd. Only part that I don’t get that the Mac guys are saying is they keep the software on the main but the vst for the software separate on the external. Fl downloads all as one
Oh yes. Actually I messed up. I meant to say that only the content can be placed in the HDD or SSD, not the installation. But it's pretty much, install the program on the OS Hard Drive or OS SSD. That's the computer's main drive where the programs used to run the computer are on. The VST Plugins, like Native Instrument's VST's or AU etc. That too will be installed on the Operating System. The External Hard Drive or SSD would be useful for storing the content data since they contain large amounts of data. In my case, I have The Komplete Ultimate 14, and that is 835 GB It could be put on the OS, but It would take up a lot of space that would be better for other installation files, as well as space for the Drive to have a better load timing for. Think of the Installation of the VSTs like a Gameboy Color (OS) and the Game Cartridges as the External HDD or SSD In Native Instrument's example, the installers is on the Computer, whereas; The Expansions and other content for Native Instruments that would be loaded into the VST would be in the External Drive. And yeah. FL Studio is downloaded all as one installation. You technically could drag the samples into a folder on the external, and add that path to FL Studio's Browser, but I think it's only like 1 GB or something? Idr.
