How to transform any 360-degree video into 3D (using photogrammetry) 

Metashape accepts fisheye images, meaning you can create jpegs from the original video of each lens, rather then creating an equirectangular video first (and avoid all the re-compression artifacts) Even better results can be had if you set the Insta 360 One to take still images every couple of seconds instead of video. Video codecs compress the image WAY more then jpeg does. This translates into more detail in your 3d model and better resolution textures. Let me know if you end up trying either of those suggestions.

Awesome video, thank you so much! I always loved the equirectangular results that MetaShape could generate so easily! But splitting the images with Meshlab is new to me, i will try that. I wonder: How would you use Meshlab with those 4 split-images? That would be a great follow-up video!

Have you tried to make Gaussian Splats? I keep failing. Im gonna try photogrammetry now, but really would love to get some splats from 360 video. Im using Insta 360 RS ONE

why not take a time lapse as you walk?

I just export my insta 360 videos in mp4 360. Than import in Agisoft ( standard function ) than choose spherical in camera settings en away we go . no extra steps needed.

Amazing video!! But I have one problem, how do you export the video to JPG stills? I can't see that option. That would save a ton of time in the Metashape process.

How did it handle YOU being in the footage? Did you pre-mask it, or did it just figure it out?

What type of subscription do you have for metashape ? Is the standard edition sufficient for that type of use ?
