Thank you! I plan to profile my Wangs 2204HW l, which is basically a hand wired 50watt JCM800 clone tomorrow so that video should be up soon. Stay tuned! Thanks for watching!
Thank you for your kind words! Kemper world can be a little confusing but stick with it. Eventually the clouds clear and you'll have your Eureka moment. Thanks for watching, there's more good stuff coming up.
Watched a few of your videos so far. I’ve been working with a Kemper for quite a few years now. I always appreciate inspiring and a new take on the unit.
I've only been using it for about 5 years, but I love it. It's all about the profiles - if they sound good then all is good! I love mine! Thanks for watching!
Excellent video and a great sounding Profile, before and after. So basically you added the "Modelled" version (Liquid) of a Plexi Gain and Tone stack to your DSL.
Thank you! And yes. I kinda think of it as if I took my amp to a tech and had him replace the tone stack and gain control to values that perform more akin to an old Superlead. And I gotta say, I really like how it affected the overall sound and feel of the profile. In the future I plan to try the same thing with some of the other included tone stack models - I just chose the Plexi Normal Channel stack because I’m a little more familiar with it’s effects than some of the other amps - not to mention some of my favorite guitar tones were crafted using those amps LOL. Thanks again!
Thank you for watching! I concur. I’ll have a new video up in a day or two exploring a profile I made of the Wangs 2204HW, a hand wired JCM800-ish amp - the profile came out amazing. You’ll definitely want to check it out!
Do you have "PureCab" "on" or "off" at the output section? Everybody seems to forget about that, but that's a very important parameter which makes a huge difference!
Ya know, I don’t remember but I don’t think I do have it on. I’d totally forgotten about Pure Cab - thank you for reminding me, and thanks for watching!
Another great video !!!! Do you think cranking the EQ will work the same if not using the Liquid profile update ?? I need to upgrade my old Mac book pro which is on an older operating system that will not jive with the latest update that includes the morphing.
The Liquid Profile is crucial for this. Just using the regular EQ would be like putting an EQ Pedal after the Kemper and cranking it. It’s the behavior of the Plexi tone stack that makes this possible. Thanks for watching Bro!
When it is I may consider grabbing one. I dunno though, I’m so used to the footswitch layout of the Kemper Remote and now the Stage. I like a lot of options to choose from LOL!
Hi, thanks for watching! It’s not for sale just yet - I plan to make a bunch of profiles of my various amps and then put together some profile packs for sale. Check out my Guitar Rig tour to see the various amps I’ll be profiling - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-A7TrRihoOfw.htmlsi=SN8aT_O8Zmp5oCJL Make sure to subscribe so you’ll know when these are available. Thanks again!
I don’t use any attenuator. Just raw cranked amps \,,/ I’m using two Apollo X8P’s (I love the Unison preamps) and also run Logic Pro. Thanks for watching man!
Any chance of getting a copy of this JCM2000 profile? Even if it's a copy of the original profile that you had before you did the tweaking in this video?
It's currently not available but I have plans in the near future to create some various profiles of the amps in my collection & offer some profile packs. You can see my amp collection in Part 2 of my Studio Tour here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-A7TrRihoOfw.htmlsi=HHT5QkMRnDjPZ0Wt Thank you for watching! Stay tuned for much more!
I think there are a few reasons. First, there's always the 'purist' crowd who will dismiss anything that isn't their preferred topology - especially the 'toob ' snobs - which is a category to which I used to belong - until I got a Kemper and started making MY OWN profiles. Second, I think there are probably a fair amount of users who are expecting it to work like other modeling platforms - dial up an amp model and go to town. They're not realizing what makes the Kemper different. Or they're using profiles that don't quite jive with their style, or feel or touch or whatever. I suspect this is the case with you because I haven't yet encountered a sound or feel the Kemper couldn't do an excellent job of copping. That's why the ability to make ones' own profiles is so key here. Thanks for watching!
Cause it's very expensive and I've seen countless videos on RU-vid where cheaper equipment sounds significantly better. Maybe they screwed up the demos, but it's not a piece of gear you can really test for yourself, unless you buy one.
