I would guess that this feature is fairly new... like maybe the last two OS versions or so.

You can select the language Chrome translates the page into. On your computer, open Chrome/At the top right, click More More and then Settings/On the left, click Languages/Under “Google Translate,” click Translate into this language/Select the language that you want from the language list.

how accurate are the translations?

Try it for yourself and see. I don't know of any objective measurement and I don't know any other languages well enough to give an opinion on that.

I translate to Korean and chinese a lot of time and by judging their reaction I can tell the translations are very bad.

Depends on the app. For instance, in Safari you can use System Setting to assign one to View, Translate, Translate to (English).

Hey Gary thanks for your video I've learned few tricks here and there do you know how could I fix my problem? when I select a text and clic on translate option I just get a blank display :D it used to work but not anymore.. annoying me :D cheers

Sadly no option to translate appears for Chrome for me... I don't know if it's because I have my default search engine be set to another search engine that isn't google. Don't want to switch to Safari though (which -does- show the option to translate)

Well and fine, but their choice of languages they support could stand some scrutiny. Dutch is supported with only about 20 million speakers of the language. There are at least 120 million Filipinos which is not supported

My Mac will not allow me to translate Czech, and nothing here is working. Other cheaper computers do the translate without any problem or hassle. Why is expensive Apple such an inferior product in this regard?

You can use a variety of techniques to do it (see the section in my video on using Google). Other services as well. It is just that they haven't yet added that particular language to the built-in system-wide translation feature. They'll get there eventually.
