Today was my first visit to the allergist. I came away very disappointed as they recommended no more houseplants...not because of the plants, but because of the dirt!. You are such a blessing!! I had no idea I could keep my plants in a hydroponic way! I'm elated!! Can't wait to get started!! Even my beloved African Violets! Thank you, thank you!
Fantastic explanation! I wish I’d found this video a couple years ago when I was first getting started with hydroponics. I haven’t transitioned any plants in awhile and have an aglaonema that I’m planning to repot from soil to hydroponics. Thank you!
Thanks for the helpful info. I didn’t even think about the health concerns of having mold growing in the house from my plants 😳 I just ordered a starter set. I’m excited to switch over a few plants and see how they do.
I know this video is 3 years old but i saw you still post so i subbed. This video was very helpful. Im going to transfer some monstera albos from soul to hydro because ive been dealing with root rot issues. Ive trimmed off all the rot and cleaned up the roots with 3% hydrogen peroxide mixed with equal parts water. This video was great for me to understand the next step. Cheers :)
Respectable sir I want to know they how much videos have you uploaded since now .I cannot see many there are few videos shown on my mobile.i need special instructions about my indoor plants and palms
Hello, I am so happy to come across your channel! Unfortunately before I found you I purchased the set of General Hydroponics Flora Gro for my plants in leca. My question is, do I keep using this Flora Gro? I didn’t see what you use after the 4 to 6 weeks with the K-L-N. Can you tell me what you use? Also, other videos showing how to pot in Leca never talked about the 4 to 6 wks with just the K-L-N or anything else and went straight to the Flora Gro. I really love your method and want to learn more about leca so that my plants will grow healthy. I’ve planted a lot of my plants in leca with the Flora Gro and I’m wondering if I shld remove that, get your K-L-N and use that and whatever you use for the ingredients after the 4 to 6 wks in K-L-N. PLS HELP! 🪴🌱
I’m so glad I found your channel! I remember many years ago purchasing a hydroponic system at a home party with my Mom - like a Tupperware party only for hydroponics! The water gauge was a little window on the side of square plastic pots. They worked wonderfully, but over the years of moving, everything got lost. I was about to go to IKEA to buy their Odla pebbles, but decided to do some more research on containers that would work and found you and heard you say we’ve been doing it here for 30 years - which confirms that was what my Mom & I had purchased back then. Subscribing to hear what comes next in this process.
HELP! After watching several videos, i moved all my houseplants with soil roots to water, it's been a week all my pothos, scindapsus and monstera adansonii are fine, but i'm having issues with my brasil philodendron, prayer plant and philodendron micans, both the micans and prayer plant and my cheese plant are getting yellow leaves - the logic to move them to water first was to make the transition easier by growing water roots, i dont know what to do know i'm panicking any help will be greatly appreciated- should i cut off all soil roots and let it fully grow in water? Should i just put it in leca now? Its been a week? I dont want my other plants to also turn yellow..
I'm assuming your leca is wet (with the KLN solution) when you pot up new plants? Do you let the roots dry at all after washing off the dirt before putting them into the leca?
Good question! I do NOT let the roots dry before transplanting. Roots form a callous when they dry out to save the moisture inside. This barrier will actually make the transfer more diffcult because the roots have shut down.
I think some plants are more hardy than others so some would be better suited for the change and potential shock. I've had mixed results but very small sample size lol goodluck
