Watching your boys make trails through the poop mountains brought back so many memories. They have no idea right now of how good their childhood is. Keep it coming. Love your videos
The real cowboy is the one riding in the middle cuz the don't have to drive and don't have to open the gate. That was a line from an old country song that I can't seem to recall the name of...
No wonder the kids are such good workers, the example you and Laura set for them is just refreshing to watch. I learned so many things in this video I have to go rest my head as it might explode from all the new info. Thanks for taking us along.
Be still my heart! I'm a 67 yr old mom/granny! I'm a new subscriber this month. Y'all make me smile with your video. I had 4 boys then that girl!! we had a Minni farm but so many of the same stories just smaller scale, The turd pile as my boys called it was the best. I remember learning to drive the equipment. Jr /Sr rodeos and catching cows. Thank you for being out there for me to enjoy as I travel the US. I will admit that now with my old lady heart I yell to myself " Oh my that child is doing this or that!! " Keep it up and keep those kids free to learn and explore.
Got yourself a Double Clutchen Momma! Way to go! I'm having a hard time getting over your videos. Can't believe your family. I'm guessing Momma is from Florida. Could be wrong. Been wrong before. Gota love your family videos. Keep up the good work. I'm hook on watching. God bless, From Central Indiana.
Like father like son. A monster dozer on a small trailer. Haha! I hope my comment about the trailer being too small didn't upset you because I probably would've done the same thing. If it needs to be moved you move it with what you have available. I hauled a one ton dump truck with a diesel engine about 160 miles on a trailer rated to haul 6000 lbs. I didn't have enough tongue weight because the trailer wasn't long enough to load it correctly so I had to go 55 mph. Any faster and it would sway like crazy. Blew one tire on the way home and didn't it sway bad when that tire blew. Thanks for the video and God bless you all!
I never have figured out why kids and dogs like to play in the manure pile. In bare feet no less. They're having the time of their life a time I'm sure they will remember forever. Thanks for taking us along
Your children were blessed with their Mama’s eyes 🇺🇸 Keep on keeping on I just can’t get enough of the whole bunch at the Anchor Brand Ranch ♥️🙏🏼♥️ Best regards from eastern Oregon✌🏼😎
I have worked with cattle in a trailer like that myself. Didn't know about the rope trick. Dad did teach me to be careful about getting my arm inside or getting trapped inside. When letting the big bull out I would have done the back gate first, then opened the middle gate. Then I would have closed the middle gate and the back gate before releasing the little bull. Of course I wasn't there, and my hindsight is much better than just 20/20. I have had some of those spooky Nevada range cattle delivered to my place before. I don't have horses and dogs so I do everything slowly on foot whenI move the cows from paddock to paddock as needed (Managed Intensive Grazing). At first I open the gate to the new paddock and then wander around in the old paddock to let them 'escape' into the new paddock with lush green grass. By the second cycle they start to catch on, and after that whenever I go into their paddock and start calling them to "Come along girls, and bring your babies" they follow me through the gate to their next paddock. The biggest challenge is when the older calves go gallivanting around instead of staying with the herd. When they realize that Mama is on the other side of the fence they really get excited. I remember one old cow that stopped in the middle of the gate and bellowed about the grass in the new paddock not being good enough for her delicate pallette. You just can't please some cow critters. Because I never lie to them by leading them into a barren paddock they begin to trust me. Then at the end I lie to them when I lead them into the loading corral. But then it is too late for them to escape. I missed the cows last summer because the wife and I are on an 18 month tour of duty as a Senior Couple on a Military Relations Mission, serving my Marines at 29 Palms, CA. We are heading home to Idaho soon, so if you hear a couple of beep, beeps coming from the Hiko side about the 12th of April, it will be us passing through.
Got a chuckle out of the crazy cow story, we had one she ruined several panels and her calf was just like her. She made good hamburger. Love watching your children make their own fun, they should teach that in the city.
That is why a lot of kids get so sick these days, they don't get out and play in the dirt and manure to build up their immunity. I remember doing the same things as a kid on the farm. Nice tip on releasing the little bull. A good sharp knife would change the little bull's disposition. Another good one, God Bless.
One of my neighbours switched everything over to a pintle hitch so that there never was a sizing issue for any trailer or hitch on any truck. Takes a bit of work and $$ to switch once you have a bunch of equipment.
The old pictures of me as a kid I am often running around butt naked. and in some pictures others have coats on. I can side with Rhett. Nice track for the dirt bikes in the poop pile. You have a beautiful family. Momma has a lovely smile and seems pretty happy even doing farm chores. Farm mothers work hard inside and outside. Roxy starting softball? I pitched softballs for hours and tore my rotator cuff and tendons finally got a pitching device. Stay safe and healthy.
My oldest daughter Amanda, took her fishing a lot when she was growing up. She wouldn't hear of anyone baiting her hooks for her. Took her to the coast, out of Reedsport, Oregon and gathered up a bunch of Kelp Worms to use as bait. The first one she grabbed up and she had it right up close to see that she hooked it right as usual. Now these Kelp worms look like centpede's but the heads will pop out and they have a big set of pinchers, when Amanda saw those pinchers, she freaked out and threw a fit, never to touch one again! I showed her how they won't hurt you, how to hold them, nope. Never to touch even a night crawler after that. She just turned 42 and she'll jump and run off if she see's even a spider, lol. See always is reminded of that Kelp Worm. Thought I raised her different!
When I was a kid we had “dirt clod” fights. The “dirt clods” were more pig crap than dirt and it wasn’t fun to get smacked in the head with one but we lived through it! I laughed when I saw your kids on the cow crap pile. We did the same thing….after we cleaned out the stalls with pitchfork and wheelbarrow. I’m not sure if skid loaders were very common at that time but we certainly never had one, that’s what kids are for!
I never have seen the rope trick. That proves that as long as you live your never to old new tricks. Never had over 30 had but sure jab some like those two. And I could have used it several times. I too am hooked on Riley Han a grandson like him but he just about has quit day work for steadier income. As you know it takes a lot of dough to keep horses and dogs fed and old beat up pickups up to be able to pull good trailers down the roads. Love your channel and a special love out
You and Laura got to go on a Cow Trapping Date. My grandson is just like Rhett. Never wants to wear clothes. Thanks for showing us some tricks on the ranch. Very cool.
And animal abuse 😜 We spend every day, sweat , blood and tears ( literally) Providing food water and medical care for animals and get shamed by the internet for mistreatment of animals 🤔
I may have missed in a past video. What happened to Rio’s arm? I would think with all them boys on a ranch you should have a orthopedic specialist on site lol.
It is easy to see that young feller is a farmer or rancher that is why he has that bull dozer on a to small trailer behind and old truck. 57 In FIRST GEAR!
Great job on the video I know you are doing chores but at you two got away for a little while by yourself. Hope you are enjoying your restful Sunday. Always be safe in your travels and Take Care
As a kid a buddy of mine and me and other friends too would try to walk ontop of the freshly laid pile they would stage for spreading it on the field. If it got a days crust over it or more you may just have made it. Ahh the good ol days
Love that heavy twine, great for emergency purposes, had a bunch of flax big squares, made a 70x140 ft riding arena, 2 bales high on edge, lasted 5 plus years.
You were talking about a truck with a dump or bail feeder, I am not sure but my son may have one for sale. He has sold his ranch n now lives in town. He has no use for it anymore. I haven’t talked to him about it. It fits on his truck n can load n unload up to 6 big square bales n round bales. It will also spread n unroll bales of hay. I know that he paid a lot of money for it n only has it a couple of years before he sold the ranch. He also has a 34 or 36 foot ultra light stock trailer. I am not sure if he plans on selling or keeping it either. If you think that you might b interested in either one, let me know n I will ask him about it. I think that he only used the trailer a handful of times n he bought it new.
Nice learnin' video. Give country boys shovels and a pile of "dirt-ish" and they will find something to do. Looks like it's Rio's turn in a cast, wrist?
Thought I saw a cow on the fence side up front LIMPING. Just thought you could look out for him. Could be I’ve been watching to much hoof Gp. Everyone in your family are hard workers. Loved seeing the kids playing in the manure. To cute!😁
I believe that little bull might take you if you gave him half a chance ! City folk wouldn't even walk by a pile of cow crap little lone play in it ! lol
Those boys look like a bunch of tuff little buggers! Boy do I like to see that ,reminds me how my brothers and I were back in the 50's and 60's . Brings back memories . Hope there ain't any woke snow flakes watching!!
Thanks for the cowboy learn-nnn. And the comment about the dozer being too big for the trailer Bahaha. Nothing like a little in your face for us keyboard warriors. Looking forward to the next video to see how many cows you caught in your traps
Good backhoe work and better than some she put the front and back bucket on the ground! I've seen them going down the road on a trailer up. My grandpa would kill ya!Super
Your lucky in some ways that it doesn't rain, all the manure all wet, imagine the kids playing in that 😜 Can I take it all the stock is rather fiesty ,or just the Bulls and Steers? When I see you wish new the boys herding them in from way out, they seem reasonable quiet, calf rearing, is that a thing over there or are they sent straight out with the mums?
Let me see if I've got this right, Ram, Roxi, Rio, Riley, Ryler, Rance, Robby, Ridge, Rhett? I really enjoy your videos, thanks! I wish I grew up like that. Riley is a good hand with learning to wrench and he looks like he really likes doing it. I'm only doing 1 kid a video. Let's get that blade going!
I'm really bad at birthdays. I can't believe I got the kids'names right! That only took 2 months. I'm a 63 year old retired scraper operator and would love to help sometime. It makes me feel good to see your kids being kids.
I just hope that while your wife helps you around the farm, that you are as good a husband as she is wife n help her with the house hold chores, like cooking, dishes n cleaning. It’s only fair. Love your family n videos.
Can't wrap my head around the idea of playing in poo. I don't drink milk because I start thinking about where it came from, and Tom Green. Love me some beef thou!
You make your lady drive, you make her load hay. Ramsey does that mean you are fixing supper? Laura does the pink cast mean your son got a little wild?
