Anotha' great vlog! Crazy how you can spend months in countries which you've never visited before. Getting used to their customs can be a challenge but that's also the fun part of travelling!
Awesome video as always! How do you keep your valuables safe in the hostels? If you remember from your Vietnam in 30 days video, I was going to complete your itinerary (which I did with very few changes!) and vlog it - but in one of the hostels, I had literally everything stolen from my under bunk locker - my camera, memory cards, headphones, MacBook, and even my (second) mavic pro :/ I lost absolutely everything! And with the police being so corrupt in Vietnam I was unable to get any help! So would love to know what you do with your laptop when your out exploring and having fun??
Noahvde it was in Ho Chi Minh 😩 alleyway hostel. It turns out you could get into the lockers by lifting up the mattress and board or by pulling the doors with force. They were even in my padlocked Osprey bag inside the locker. Think he was a professional as he managed to bend the metal on the zipper and get the padlock off. We found out it was a guy that checked in with no passport or ID which I’m sure you know is legal requirement in Vietnam so he gave a fake name and the hostel were liable :/ they even said he tried to check in days before when it was full so he must have scouted the place out before and only had a small day pack on him enough to fit all my goods in! We had only just checked in dropped our bags and gone for food 😩
Pretty penny? Hmmm... I wonder how pretty is the penny. :-P You are extremely correct when you say that the translation of money goes 1 way and doesn't the other way. That's why to travel to a more developed country, it would take YEARS if not more of savings in order to just go over for a week or 2 of travel. Consider yourself lucky coz you're born in Canada and the money is good when you travel to Asia. Take care and enjoy your trip. When are you going to the Philippines?
aodat2 yeah, its rough. One thing that travelling reminds me to do time and time again is be thankful and to not take the things for granted. Will be in PH around January/February
