EVs that is produced today loose only approx 1% battery capacity per year (more the first year, but sometimes less the following years.). A least the cars that are sold in Norway. This is in moderate climate - in warmer, like India I guess they will loose some more. A typical car ´lives´ for about 20 years - so the car will have approx 75-80% rest capacity when it is 20 years old (European climate) - fully functional, but a little shorter range. So if you want to trash the car in 20 years for some reason, you can sell the battery first or the. Used car batteries get good prices for other purposes. Approx 85% of all cars sold new in Norway fall 2023 are EVs. (+ approx 7% PHEVs)
