It is a great inspiration to anyone thinking of touring in Norway. I bought your book “The complete guide to Motorhoming in Europe” which I can definitely recommend. We will be referring to it many times before and during our “Happy Travels in Europe” to quote your signing.
Loved your video. I don't know if it's possible for people from other countries, but we are members of the Color club which is the members club for the Color line ferry. If you become a member you get cheap or free trips, and you also get discounts in the taxfree shop on the ferry. If you are going to take the Color line ferry from Denmark to Norway or from Sweden to Norway you should absolutely check out if you can become a member before going. Sometimes there will be an extra fee for larger cars or longer and higher, but it's much cheaper than full price if you can become a member. For the toll roads there are also possible to get a autopass, but I don't know if this is only for Norwegian vehicles or also for those from other countries. It's easier to have the autopass as you will not have to go to the gas station or online to pay each time you pass a toll road as there are a lot of them in Norway. All the toll roads are automatic, they will read your licence plate number and send you a bill if you don't pay I think. Also be aware that shopping at the gas station is more expencive than a regular grocery store like Rema 1000, Kiwi or Extra. There will be a lot of places you can not pay by cash, so you will have to use a credit card of some kind, usually Visa or Mastercard is accepted most places I think. Be aware that there is not every kind of goods you can bring to Norway and you will have to declare food and alcohol and such. Check this out before going or you can end up paying a lot and they will take the food and alcohol. (Also cigarettes and tobacco have strict rules.) The food in Norway is actually more likely to not have salmonella or anything like that and is very safe. It might be more expencive than in Denmark or Germany or Sweden, but if you go to the cheap stores I mentined you will pay less than for instance Spar or Eurospar. In typical tourist areas there will also be higher prices and small villages or towns will also have high prices and of course the capital and the larger cities like Bergen and Stavanger. Please bring your garbage to the nearest trash can and always leave no marks in the environment, this is very important as we want to be able to see the beautiful landscape for free. There have been sugested that tourist will have to pay to see, and I think that is insane as I think the nature should be free for everyone not just rich people.

I love Kat, she is so enthusiastic and very informative. I used to live in Norway so I know how expensive it is. This however is something I will defo do next year in the new van (new to me not new lol). Thanks Kat for the heads up on difference in price due to length. Something I will defo have to think about. I am also planning on Sweden and Finland in the same trip so maybe 6 months. Then van life in Europe. Keep up the great video's Kat ..... Play up Pompey

Hi. I've been watching a few of your videos and they're great and useful (particularly for newbies). The one thing I would say is you have issues with audio. Your, shall we say, 'exuberant' style (some may say loud and fast, but I would never) plays havoc with the audio levels. I don't know enough to know how to deal with it, but changing to the lapel mike seemed to help a bit, but has not solved it. I think it's that to catch everything the recording level has to be up, but then that causes (what I think is called) clipping at louder levels. I'm not sure if microphone type, placement or what the audio is recorded on is the answer, but it would make enough difference to the quality of your videos to be worth solving. It may also depend on what we're listening on how big a deal it is to the viewer.
I’m sorry, but as a Norwegian I can’t stop laughing when Americans and Brits applaud our English skills. Like the majority of people around the world are taught English as a 2nd language in primary school, and Norway is no exception. Many of us has a very heavy Norwegian accent, mostly the older generation as all they had was School English (British accent), and didn’t grow up with American TV shows, music etc. like the younger generation nor did they have internet and social media like we do today. And no it sounds nothing like the Hurdy Gurdy from the Muppet show which is a stereotype and actually based on Swedish not Norwegian. We are fluent in English and it’s our 2nd language. And ironically English is actually a Western Germanic language related to Norwegian… and all Brits are as high as 40% Scandinavian, due to the vikings, the majority being Norwegian and Danish ancestry. In turn Norwegians used to be heavily Celtic due to all the Celtic slaves brought over, but this gene later died out and was washed out with Slavic blood, as the Swedish vikings took them in the thousands when raiding through Eastern Europe down to the Black Sea, and Constantinople in ancient Turkey now Istanbul city. Norwegians are extremely mixed, to the point where no one can truly claim to be 100% Norwegian. X hundred years of being colonized by both Sweden and Denmark, then the German/Dutch Hanseatic League in Western and Southern Norway transforming the various dialects into what it is today. 1 million died during the Black Death/Plague, another 1 million emigrated over the Atlantic to America for a better life due to poverty, and difficult farming conditions and little space. Then Swedish, Finnish and Russian settlers took over the empty Norwegian farms as well as their family names. Just some fun fact😝🤷🏾♀️🫠

Kat, we’re planning a month in Norway this summer but we will have to work on some days. How did you get on with data? We have a Mifi with a uk sim, but the roaming limits won’t be enough. Any thoughts? And lastly, how good and reliable is the coverage, particularly off the beaten track?
