Watch us as we treat this concrete slab home for termites! This treatment only took us about two hours. If you watch this video you will be able to protect your valuable home from destructive termites. And yes they will find your home if it doesn’t have coverage, it’s just a matter of time…
ALL the EXACT products I use for 🪳pest control, 🎥 content creation, and 🕺personal.

To recap: We treated this concrete slab home for termites. All you need to complete this treatment is a 5 gal bucket, termiticide chemical, water, shovel, and gloves. First, measure the outside perimeter of the structure. This will tell you how much chemical you need to buy. You will need to purchase about .32 fl oz of chemical per 1 linear foot. Second, dig a trench along the outside perimeter of your home, deep enough so the chemical doesn’t run out. Third, mix the chemical with water as according to the label. Always follow label instructions. Fourth, apply the mixture to the soil and let is soak in. Then that’s about it, just clean up and rinse the pesticide container before you throw it away.
Comment any questions you have below!
I recommend using the chemicals Taurus SC or Termidor SC. Both chemicals will give you at least 10 years of termite protection (if done correctly). You should be able to find them to purchase on line.

Educate your audience on PPE. You’re using one of the strongest products available on the market and have no safety glasses, chemical resistant gloves, waterproof boots or anything. Teach them to give a minimum 6” gap between your water source and what you fill. Any lil kid who goes up to that water source on the side of the home for drink of water is now at risk due to splash back. Your channel is awesome. Just some feedback.

@maxmanx1294
@maxmanx1294 4 месяца назад
Do one or both: trench & treat the perimeter of concrete; drill holes in concrete & inject termiticide. There are videos & label instructions for both methods. For example, some drill 1/2" wide holes 12" apart along perimeter of garage floor, walkway, driveway, patio, etc & inject termiticide like Taurus SC. Add DIY bait stations, too. You can find video for that online. Don't ever use termite repellants bx you want them to injest & spread toxin to kill the colony. I'm not sure repellants work anyway.

Hi Dan, thanks for the video. Very informative. What would be the way to go in a townhouse with an active infestation of dry wood termites? The house is attached to the other 2 townhouses, leaving only space for treatment in the front and back of the property?. In fact, the backside of the property is a patio, with the outdoor flooring around the foundation made of concrete. It`s only in the front where I could dig as you did in the video. Have a crucial question in relation to trenching. Like after a couple years the trench topmost soil with Termidor will somehow degrade due to any reason like rain or snow. What if termites forage not under ground soil but halfway on the top ground itself to your home being the window/door as their entry point, from this angle I would say trenching job is unworthy. Whats your take on this? Many thanks from your valuable info. and videos.
@farrellteam2927
@farrellteam2927 Год назад
termites live deep under the soil so they will pass through the treated area before entering the home
@maxmanx1294
@maxmanx1294 4 месяца назад
Treatment does need to be around the entire perimeter. The dirt backfilled into the trench must be treated as well. Further, a lot of water is being dumped next to the foundation at each downspout. I highly recommend adding downspout extenders that move water as far as possible from the structure. Tight properties like that usually are mandated to have drainage swales; all residents should add downspout extensions that empty water in drainage swale that moves water from the structure. Finally for a complete barrier, treat in or around all concrete via holes or trench.

A couple of things... Dan is missing PPE. The label specifies Gloves & Long Sleeves (not rolled up.) Also, read and follow the instructions on the label exactly. It is violation of federal law to use this product in a manner inconsistent with its labeling. Not "This is close enough, you don't have to be exact." In this case, the minimum trench depth is 6" or to the bottom of the footing. "Just 3-4 inches" as done in the video is not consistent with the labeling. If you're doing it yourself, I recommend doing it in 10 foot sections for consistency. Trench 10 feet, mix your concentrate, pour, fill.

Hello, I live in north texas. I have subterranean termites swarming on my hall floor, they are coming out of a wall which is right in middle of my home, they are probably coming along side plumbing in wall. So if i do this treatment would that help pls? Also I have big driveway to garage, back porch and front porch all concrete, Can i skip those areas or i should do around them or I need to drill holes. Thank you so much for your help.
@DanTheBugMan
@DanTheBugMan 2 года назад
Howdy! Yes this treatment will work perfect for that situation. You should treat as much soil around the outside perimeter of the house as you can. If the porches aren't too big, then go ahead and treat the soil around those as well. Drilling holes would only be necessary if more than 50% of the home's perimeter soil is not accessible
@priyankajain9542
@priyankajain9542 2 года назад
Thanks so much for your response! I guess overall i can access >50% of soil around home. So looks like I can avoid drilling holes and keep around foundation and probably little bit around my front and back porches/drive ways. Just one quick follow up though, wall which we know is infested do we need to do something just for that wall or not necessary! Thank you so much again for your help!

Baits DO work. They aren't just pieces of wood in soil. There are at least 2 types of bait. For an infestation, I'd trench & add bait stations. If there are no signs of activity, use 2 or more types of bait. IGRs are the slowest acting, but they do work.

12:45 I hate those plastic things in the ground, they actually load them with attractants for the termites. When the termites come and eat it, because you've been shouting to them to come near your house, they can then say "oops, you have termites". I would prefer to do the trench treatment you have around the house and do another one around the perimeter of the property.

Bayer is a trustworthy insecticide company. I just looked it up. I think this product could help prevent termite infestation. However, I wouldn't use it if you know you have termites. This could offer some peace of mind though to help prevent them from foraging for food around you home. So basically if you don't have termites this will help you keep from getting them. @@DanTheBugMan We are actually having huge swarms of winged brown termites right now each and every night here in Central Florida. It happens every year around Mother's Day. We have literally had this happen every year. They swarm in the thousands! So bad we have to seal off our windows and doors around 8:30pm and then they swarm for an hour or so then stop. I sprayed Taurus SC around the entire house (4 gallons) around the windows, doors, and soffits and up 12 inches out 12 inches of the house just as a preventive if they come in which many have and we have killed by smashing them. I had a pest company do the same thing with Termidor years ago for around a $1000 with a 10 year termite agreement. I need to do this as well as I too have a new bottle of Taurus SC and am ready to treat our house with our concrete slab like the video here was. Great job. You had a good video. I'll still treat my backfill too as that is super easy to do while it is flipped over and then treat the top again once repositioned in. Still a lot cheaper then a company. A 78oz bottle is almost $100 on DoMyOwn.com now. Ouch. Still cheaper than Termidor. I just ran out of that bottle the other day. It used to be $35 a bottle for 20oz years ago or less. @DanTheBugMan
@DanTheBugMan 2 года назад
Yes sure thing!…. This is all based off the label. Just requires some math
@DanTheBugMan
@DanTheBugMan 2 года назад
The label says apply .8 fl oz of concentrate per gallon of finished solution. This is the dilution rate…. Then, it says apply 4 gallons of finished solution per 10 linear feet of soil you are treating. That means for every 10 linear feet you will use 3.2 fl oz of concentrate (.8 x 4)…. So if you need 3.2 fl oz of concentrate per 10 linear feet, then you need 65.2 fl oz of concentrate for 204 linear feet. So 78 is more than enough, you would actually only need 65 fl oz for a adequate treatment
