right leg was ok, no compensating. the Left hip was injured 8 months ago and I fail the quad test on that side, I have to bend sideways to compensate . :( I am thinking that some Pt and other health care professionals I have seen have not fully addressed these muscle imbalances and wonder why I still have some issues........
HAHAHA i am a new subbie and just working through your vids, the fone in one hand and loo paper in the other actually had me laughing. Looking forward to more . Love from England xox
I get a cramp in my hamstring when doing the first test, lifting leg up behind me. It's an ongoing issue, I'm not sure how to fix. I've read it can be related to the glutes not activating correctly, but it remains a bit of a mystery how to resolve so I'm not on the edge of cramping my hamstrings when doing this or similar movements.
You have saved my life brother.. I had serious chronic back and hip pain. After watching your videos and practicing a lot, I learned that some muscles imbalances was my problem.. I am almost pain free now.. Thank you
Each and every physician, health care provider, therapist and actually anyone dealing with human body should be obligated to watch all of your videos and pass on exams on the priceless knowledge that you share in them, before being allowed to even touch any human being!
I absolutely agree. How can we help to make this happen? There is so much unnecessary pain I see on a daily bases in my practice by just overlooking all this structural integrity!
But all the "professionals" wouldn't make their money out if you, would they? That is the underlying problem in health care. Healthy people are not patients but only patients provide money. 🤷🏾♂️
This instruction is so true. I am so glad this was forwarded to me two weeks ago. I have suffered for 5 years with spinal stenosis. I jus t had ANOTHER MRI two weeks ago. Since I have started doing this stretch at least a couple of times each day and while the pain hasn’t completely disappeared it has reduced significantly and I believe will be eliminated on another month or so. Thank you!!
I had chronic lower back pain, finally got an MRI turned out I had two crushed discs in my back. Luckily I had a government job with good insurance, it only cost me $1,200 for a $400,000 surgery and two new artificial discs...Now I can move without pain, it's fantastic. I do several sets of deadlifts twice a week with good form to keep the muscle built up around the lower spine...
was told here , at least in Pittsburgh, they only do one level at a time for an artificial disc,... Never heard of anyone here that had two done... I read that since artificial discs are a mechanical device that it can move or fail is this true? I had a microdisectomy L4L5 but no one ever suggested putting an articial disc in there and there is not much disc left...
@@annmartin1376 Dr Kim Wright in Anchorage Alaska did mine. Don't know all the surgery details, but my new discs are working great, no pain, lots of mobility...
I’m working on flexibility. Am able to do this stretch now. I keep working but have some down days - I’m not giving up as I do know it is muscle related! I’m encouraged everyday when I find new information. You have helped me more than PT. Thank you!
I have fibromyalgia. What are your thoughts about about using your exercise to help my pain? I mostly flexible. I am searching for ways to lessen pain and opiates.
I found about your channel today while complaining about my middle back to a new acquaintance. I'm experiencing random muscle spasms in my mid-back area. I look forward to watching and learning from your video. Also, the toilet scene was hilarious.
I have a condition where I had spasms. It has resolved, but lower back muscles and left thigh are very weak-no pain. I have minimal balance, but can't walk or stand now without a rollator. Leg strength is increasing, but don't know what to do about my back. Are there different types of squats that might help?
Wow I failed the rectus femoris test both sides miserably. Had to really put my leg out and side bend to get it and it is definitely forward when stretching it.
Hi Matt, I am recovering from my 5th back surgery. The doctor diagnosed me with disk degeneration disease in the L section of my spine. I've had several fusions & at one time had a titanium rod put on my spine because it was thinning. This last surgery I had in 2021 I've had the WROST time recovering from. My muscles and nerves from the middle of my back all the way to the tailbone STAY in so much pain! I am LESS mobile now than after any of the earlier surgeries. Every time I do simple, & I mean simple stretches that night I scream in pain & MUST sleep with a heating pad. I don't need a fluff answer, I need to know if your back stretches can HELP or am I doomed to ALWAYS remain in 7- 9 range pain daily??? Thank you for answering.
Levetor Scapula stretch. Chest stretch. Bicep and tissue work. Pectoralis major stretch and tissue work. First rib release. Stretching your SCM and scalene muscles. All these are things you can look into that may help.
I've not been able to walk since pre COVID. I recently had an MRI and waiting for results. One doctor mentioned Dystonia of the GAIT. my errector right hand side is cronic and when standing and walking stops me
Has Upright Health ever addressed those of us that hyperextend in the mid back? I do believe your APT program can help those with that, but what if it's higher up? Should I do the same exercises like dead bugs and cat/camel, etc? I have lots of tension in the T8 thru T12 area that I am working on.
Just went to Ortho got x rays.4 and 5 vertibra are out if line, can physical therapy guide them back? Also Doctor wants me to go for a cortisone injection for pain in hip, what else can help me and my hip.
Ive got a twisted spinal cord instead of it being straight its twisted which causes my body to be lopsided my left shoulder and hip sits higher than the right one
I am not sure how to fix a curve in my lower back, there are like 5 bones there that are slowly buldging out in the back, with th lower one already pinching my sciatic nerve. Tried physiotherapy, aquatherapy, cant do spots because my heart is to small to be highly active, so thats difficult to get around. They gave me cortison directly to the one thats buldging to make it retreat, tho that didnt really work to well. Just constantly feels like the nerve getign rubbed. I am super flexible, doing Fitnesstraining, as much as i can do, and all they tell me is " you dont lack flexibilit,y youlakc strenght" Its hard to build up strenght when it hurts or when the exercise gets to exhausting because my heart just cant pump enough/fast enough. Thats depressing
I had low back pain. Had 2 torn discs from powerlifting. Got adult stem cell injection. Felt great after 9 months. Started training again, was able to run fast and do agility drills on the grass. At 15 months went for a road run, a day later had horrible sciatica. Low back feels great, right leg is on fire. Only relief is lying down. Used to be able to put my palms on the floor. Now I can't put my hands to my knees. I passed the test. Still have good mobility (except leaning forward), but boy does my right leg hurt. Just sayin, be careful.
Love your comment, “If you’re under 25, this is a book!” 😂🤣. Do you have any advice/exercises for ischeal tuberosity bursitis & tendinitis. Not sure which one I have, but, it’s a real pain in the a$$ !!
I totally disagree! A roof fell on me ! That is why my back hurts All the time! I go from hurting all the time to hurting real bad! NO ONE IS WILLING TO HELP ME!! FTW! I AM READY TO DIE!!!
I used to have pain and stiffness there for more than a year (every day almost). What helped me ultimately was releasing my diaphragm and my right rectus abdominus). It got 80% better after the diaphragm release and the remaining 20% after releasing one specific point high up on my abs. Might also wanna look if you have a forward pelvic shift and swayback! Hope it helps! And yes, this is an ATM problem!
@@Theodinsson how long did you release your diaphragm? How many times a week? I have pain in my right rib and in my rhombois area, 'cause i move a lot of weight for a big amount of time. Please help
Tissue work & pin stretching (squeezing/pinning a chunk of muscle and then stretching while pinching it) on my chest and arms. Pinning and breaking up tissue where your bicep and shoulder meet and where your tricep and shoulder meet. Also, manually working on the tissue on my first rib (this is dangerous). I did hours of tissue work on my clavicle and pushing down my first rib with a tennis ball at first and then my hands. Now my muscles are relaxed and my pain is 95% gone after 1.5 years. Also listen to Dr. Sarno for the "mental" component of chronic pain.
