On Ivermectin Lotion 0.5% I have this but you said Cream not lotion. help ! I wont use it till you tell me ! I used it once before and it really dried up my skin a lot and I don’t like that. Could I use these two together the ivermectin lotion or cream with cream afterwards? This lotion says to leave it on for 5 to 10 minutes. oh ! it says the ivermectin lotion is for head lice & cream is for rosacea and is ivermectin cream, OTC or by prescription ? Please let me know on here. I’ll be checking.

I am going to comment this to all rosacea topics: do a blood work, especially looking for markers of diseases that run in your family, check your food intolerances etc. I had eczema all on my body, the dermatologists gave me creams which only worked for a while. Turned out I have dairy intolerance. I cut it back for a year completely and my eczema dissappeared. I have had rosacea in the last 5-6 years. They told me to do laser treatment. I did a bloodwork, and finally know I have insulin resistance. First step towards diabetes. Instant cause for rosacea. No laser treatment, pills, creams will solve this problem. But I can change my diet. Much less harmful. It is easier to prescribe sth...

This is excellent advice! When I did my first elimination diet at 40 years old, eight years ago, I realized a gluten intolerance, and my puffiness and redness, significantly decreased. Now that I have developed a severe dairy intolerance, I have noticed my rosacea has gotten worse again. I also supposedly have some autoimmune disorders that are stemming from possible mast cell activation, which I am taking a new medication for. I have been prescribed ampicillin to take orally every day because I’m allergic to doxycycline, but I really hate taking antibiotics for something like this. Your comment has made me really want to do better on my diet so that my skin and the rest of my body can catch a break. Good luck to you and thank you so much for the comment!!!

@kevin424 she found out because none of the rosacea treatments were working. After the final medication her Dr prescribed (I don't remember what it was), he said if that medicine didn't work, she needed to be checked for lupus. He referred her, and it turned out that's what she had been dealing with. The other symptoms were always assumed to be other things. Low energy, depression, arthritis, etc. She was just entering her 50s when she was diagnosed.

I developed rocesea during COVID due to wearing mask. I had redness and acne on cheeks and eczema like condition. Dr's 20/ Azelic Acid worked but didn't cure situation. Only think really worked was DeLa Cruz sulphur cream cheap ordered on internet. Within 2 weeks acne cleared and redness reduced. My cheeks still often become cheeks if I eat anything which has sugar, coffee chocolate. I only apply azelic cream along with vitamin 6 cream from La Roche. I had bought a redness relief called calm for £10 but didn't work. I am trying to build my skin barrier to deal with redness. If skin barrier is built then redness should go. Although, redness is not as bad as it used to be. I think it was mice related because I used same mask without changing it. And dust mites entered my face.

My rosacea was caused by SIBO (small intestine bacteria overgrowth) and I cured it by taking a course of penicillin and I also quit eating coconut yogurt and quit taking a probiotic capsule everyday. My SIBO was caused by taking a probiotic capsule every morning on an empty stomach followed by a generous helping of unsweetened coconut yogurt with fruit and psyllium added. I never thought one could have too much bacteria in one's gut but I did.

Hi Dr Usama Syed, I'm a 35 year old female and a few years ago out of no where my skin erupted with tiny red bumps in clusters all around my mouth. My skin also felt very textured so I was using a micro exfoliant which I had used for several years without any issue. My skin felt like it was on fire. I was given some sensitive skin products to try which somewhat helped but didn't get rid of it completely. I tried doxycycline, but it didn't get rid of it completely. My GP said he thought it might be a form of rosacea so I went to a dermatologist. The dermatologist said it's a 'form of acne' and prescribed me low dose Roaccutane, which did clear it up. I said to him the bumps are all uniform and feel kind of itchy and benzol peroxide made it worse. Still he insisted it was a form a acne. I believe it is acne rosacea as my skin is very sensitive, which was never the case. I asked him what to do if it returned and he said to use AZ lotion (which contains azelaic acid OTC). But I was never really told how else to manage this. I've had to switch out my cleansers for gentle milk/cream cleansers and pretty much just use a moisturiser as I've had bad reactions to various products. My question is what is a good non physical exfoliant? I use a gentle papaya enzyme mask once a week now but even when I gently wash it off with a face cloth this irritates my skin and I'm left with tiny red bumps all over my face. I feel I need some exfoliant but I really haven't found much advice on what to use when you have acne rosacea.

I was wondering if you could make a video on controversial ingredients like methylparaben, sodium laureth sulfate, propylene glycol, methylchloroisothialinone and many others as I've done my own research and couldn't come up with a definitive answer to whether or not these ingredients are safe or not. Much appreciated!

One key point for me I noticed is that "Salicilic Acid" causes my redness. I have acne prone skin and Salicylic acid is said to be good to avoid acnes so I started to use Salicylic Acid Serum only to get a red face as if i was sunburnt.. Its funnier because it took me far too long to realise the redness was caused by the serum and not just the Sun.

@@usamasyed I thought I would leave these recommendations/tips I have gathered over the years here, so it might be helpful to others; especially for people without insurance or cannot afford to visit a derm. I have type 1 and 2 Rosacea. I originally come from India and moved to the United States around 5 years ago. I strongly believe that the drastic change in weather conditions, going from a super humid climate to an extremely dry one, contributed to the degradation of my skin barrier. In short, I ignored the problem for a while and even got misdiagnosed with acne. However, I eventually realized that I was actually dealing with rosacea acne. 1. Ivermectin, the drug, is quite expensive, with a brand name called Soolantra costing around $500, and it's often prescribed by dermatologists. If this cost is a barrier, consider consulting an online dermatology service providers (there are many available; I chose Apostrophe). I obtained my topical combination (15% Azelaic Acid, 1% Metronidazole, and 1% Ivermectin) for $75. 2. Finacea (15% Azelaic Acid), is also a name brand that is both prescription only AND super expensive. Wish I'd known this years ago; but Dermatica is the only website that I know of, in the US; where you can order 20% Azelaic Acid without prescription for $25 and $5 shipping. Also, a super hydrating formulation with Squalane and Glycerin. 3. Sulphur, which is probably the only OTC product to show any relief; is the easiest to find. De la Cruz Sulfur ointment (you can find this on amazon) is available in both 5% and 10%(maximum strength) for under $15. This is the least irritating formulation for me. Most of the other sulfur products I have tried have kaolin clay and way less sulfur

Hi Dr. Syed, You probably won’t ever see this, but I’m a new sub! You got me hooked with the videos about the skincare industry being a scam and Korean skincare being overhyped. I’m trying to create my perfect routine. I’m 27 female. I’ve had oily, acne prone, sensitive skin and rosacea as long as I can remember. I’m pretty sure it’s highly dependent on diet, which I’m working on cleaning up. I currently use a LRP toleraine foaming cleanser, which I like a lot. It feels even better than the Vanicream one to me, which was my go to for years. They both foam but are gentle. The “gentle, no foaming” creamy ones I tried like CeraVe and Cetaphil don’t work well on me. I feel like there’s a film left on my skin and it doesn’t feel tight or dry, but definitely like I cleansed with Albolene or Ponds and didn’t cleanse afterward😂 Thanks for all of your videos and advice! You’re the best!!

First of all 🎖 This is the first time I watched one of your videos. Love the humour, but even better is the way you explain everything. I've had rosacea crisis before, but here in Portugal, family physicians don't really pay attention to it. Mine told me what it was and thats that. No treatment, no advice. Eventually it passed for a while. Now I'm back at it.... but because it is not an extreme case, I'm going to try the sulfur and azelaic acid, and go from there.

This was insightful. I had acne like breakout on my nose when I was a teenager and the dermatologists I saw through my teen years and 20's diagnosed it as cystic acne. It bothered me because it was just on my nose and I was always breaking out. None of the treatments prescribed worked. I finally tried an African American dermatologist few years ago who gave me an accurate diagnosis, turned out to be rhino rosacea, she told me it is usually difficult to diagnose it in darker skin tone people. Since I started seeing her, I barely breakout. She initially did a minor procedure to cut off most of the big bumps on my nose and then started doing laser to get it to a manageable state. Now I do laser treatment every 6 months and it has been the best thing for my rosacea. I don't get burn scars from the laser treatment.
@20thcenturyrelic
@20thcenturyrelic Год назад
Hi Dr. Syed, yes, I subscribed! I was diagnosed with rosacea in my late 20s, shortly after my mother was diagnosed in her late 40s. I had laser surgery in the mid 90s, and it worked very well. I don't remember what it cost, but the insurance I was on then covered most of the cost. However, the redness eventually did come back. The best solution I've found for redness is a compounded prescription of 15% azelaic acid, 1% metronidazole, and 1% ivermectin in a lotion base. My dermatologist did prescribe a leave on product with sulfur, but my skin wouldn't tolerate it. I peeled like crazy. I also take spironolactone to treat folliculitis on my scalp and breakouts around my hairline. I was a daily sunscreen user even before I was diagnosed. But a few years ago, I got to where I just couldn't deal with the white cast from mineral sunscreens, and I went back to chemical sunscreens. As far as I could tell, my facial skin was OK with that. However, this year, I decided to try a tinted mineral sunscreen, and I'm not seeing a white cast from it. So I'm going to keep using it. My dermatologist has told me not to use retinol or masks or have facials. I haven't specifically asked about AHA or BHA products, but a few months ago, I used up what I had and haven't bought more. The products were a very low percentage of the active ingredients, but I'm not going to resume them until I've talked to my dermatologist about them.15% azelaic acid twice a day may be as much of an active ingredient as I should use. For anyone who's using a leave on sulfur product at night , be aware that it can stain your sheets! And the smell can be pretty bad.

Try using finacea cream (azelic acid) once your skin barrier is more healthy and repaired. I have used it in the past which caused itchy stinging and burning and other times its been okay after repairing my skin barrier. CeraVe has an amazing hydrating gentle cleanser and amazing moisturizer lotion/cream. Both contain Hyaluronic Acid and packed with 3 essential ceramides. Their PM moisturizer contains niacinamide as well as ceramides. I highly recommend them as while their prices may be around 15-20$, they last for a few months at a time. I think the total cost for a year with just the cleanser and moisturizer would only be around 200-250$.

Great information ! I have both ocular and type 1 rosacea with very sensitive,dry skin. It’s hard to know sometimes what to put on my face. Keeping track of my rosacea triggers is very helpful. For example chocolate doesn’t seem to bother me,unlike strong vanilla (like natural bourbon vanilla ) which do🌹

I have a question about your ocular rosacea? I have styes that appear on the inside of my eyelids and I also have bloodshot eyes most days. Is that what yours is like? And did you see an ophthalmologist or dermatologist to get that diagnosis?

Cut carbs and sugar. I had the rosacea pustules for years. Rough, scaly skin. Hot flushes. Went Carnivore on Jan 1. Within 2 weeks, it subsided. Only had 2 flushes since after eating non-carnivore foods (spicy ketchup & sausage that had soy). No pustules so far. Skin is smooth and moisturized despite me rinsing my face with only plain water (no products, no sunblock, etc).

Im starting to avoid foods high in histamines, as they seem to play a role. Aloe Vera helps too. Important to wear sunblock outdoors. Also using Grahams Rosacea cream which is the most effective one I've tried so far. My Rosacea felt like burning yesterday but has mostly cleared up. Shaving also a trigger.

You don’t need to have telangiectasia. Some people have it, some don’t. You could have just papules and postules or just redness (erythema) or both of those. You could even just have phymatous manifestations or ocular symptoms. It can present in many different ways. Usually without treatment it gets worse, and can start to involve other symptoms or just a worsening of existing symptoms

I was very unhappy when a dermatologist prescribed me Rhofade for my rosacea and said there was no permanent solution. Not only is it not a permanent solution - if you discontinue use, it can cause backflushing and it’ll be worse. It was only until I did extensive research on my own that I learned there were vascular lasers. I had Vbeam and it was 1000% worth the money. I hope all dermatologists will recommend this treatment - even if they don’t offer it at their own offices.

I don’t have rosacea but I have redness on my cheeks after an irritation caused by a moisturizer and plucking hairs on my skin while it was irritated. It doesn’t heal even after using steroid creams so I’m wondering if lasers could help with this. Do you have to keep doing it or is one session enough to get a permanent result ?
@Jasmine215100

@@Dan24. Hi Dan, Usually Lasers are a long-term process, if you want to see good results! Also, you might have an allergy to something, if your skin doesn't heal after a while! Derm consult?
@Dan24.
@Dan24. 4 месяца назад
@@Jasmine215100 I went to the dermatologist and got a steroid cream prescribed. It lessened the redness but it’s still there. I also got side effects from it as it turned my skin very tight and uncomfortable. I wish I just left my skin alone and didn’t do anything, I wouldn’t be in this mess. I had perfectly fine skin but now I feel like I destroyed myself 😔 My hope was it to maybe do 1 laser treatment on the red/pigmented areas and get over all of this but maybe it’s not that simple. How often does one need to do this to keep up good results ? 1-2 a year or even more ?

Finally, I've found the channel that not sponsored, I'm so happy😊. I have Rosacea (type 1) and Serboheic Dermatitis on the scalp and used Metronidazole. My daily routine I use Eucerin 5% Urea, Alumiers Physical sunscreen and Neutrogena Ultra gentle facial cleanser and Nitrozal shampoo. I've been having a breakout for more than 2 months now, due to heat and sunlight from the windows😢. My face is red, swollen, sting and itchy and my eyelids also swollen. My GP prescribed me to Ivermectin and I've been using it for 2 weeks now but have not shown any improvements. I've been avoiding the sun since. I'm in Canada so it takes forever to see a dermatologist. My questions are: 1. Is it normal to have the breakout this long? 2. Could my body changed during the breakout and causes allergic reaction to the products that I've been using, like sunscreen? 2. Is it related to menopause? I'm so stressed out and desperated as I don't know if this ever gonna end 😢 Please help 🙏. I'm so thankful for reading my long message. Thank you Doctor

Doxy caused me to break out in hives. Doc gave me 2 sample of newest encapsulated benzoyl peroxide. Amazing! My skin has not been clear in years! Have follow up in 2 weeks. Hope there are discount coupons thru pharm company since GoodRx shows cost as $550! Only thing I haven't tried is ivermectin. Have kept it in my mind in case it's less expensive.

Salaam, 1rst Q is - As your skin naturally secretes moisturizing ingredients is it necessary to use twice a day? Or would letting your skin "naturally moisturise" itself be the better option? 2nd q - What is the argument that people say, people in past times or third world countries don't use all this stuff and their skin is "perfect" so, therefore, we should not use anything too? Please answer.

I’ve been using silver for two years and only have flare ups if I slack on using silver for 3 or more days.
