Good stuff Joey! idk if its just me but I can't seem to come across any good videos from DIYers about quarantaining fish. Do you have any videos of you showing what you do as a standard quarantaining process?

You have the best aquarium channel on RU-vid in my opinion. Love all your videos they are interesting and informational. I found your channel because I was having problems with my Koi tank, needless to say problems gone. I watch your videos that have nothing to do with my fish simply because I'm learning so much, thank you for helping me get into this hobby successfully, you're awesome!!

Thank you Joey. I got my first silver arawona a couple days ago, about 6 inches, just a wee beautiful fish. Watching your videos over the past few months has been quite inspiring so I bit the bullet when I saw this fish a month ago. Went back last Monday and he was still there. Finally went back in on Saturday and got him. I'm planning on a long term relationship with this little guy starting with a 30 gal grow out for the year then upsizing. Thank you again for doing what you're so good at. Your 350 looks great with the rainbows. Peace from kelowna...

Hey joey! Love your vids! Very helpful!! I have a silver aro about 14 inches and it's been a week now can't get him to eat anything. He was on feeders when I got him. I immediately got him on to worms, and then to frozen shrimp, I thaw the shrimps out every time in some of his tank water and cut them up into smaller pieces. But it's been a week now and can't get him to eat I've been keeping up on water changes and water is good? I did add a bubble stone about a week ago do you think it may be stressing him out?

I have a huge knife fish that only attacks life feeders. I have tried starving it for a week before feeding it sardine fillets. Bit it and spat it out. Maybe it's the taste or texture of the food that affects it too. Gonna try again with prawns. See if it works.

While I haven't tried it on any fish that eat live food. If I am struggling to get a fish to eat a new food I train them to know food enters the tank when I turn the light on while using the old food. When I introduce some of the new food during the same routine it is readily accepted. Then I can slowly wean them off the old.

@thekingofdiy
@thekingofdiy 9 лет назад
+Chih-Chieh Chiang Breeding your own is not worth the effort either. All of the resources that go into it when you can just drop in prepared food is just not worth it. Getting off live has many more benefits as well, like being able to medicate the food for example or adding in extra vitamins.
