I can't tell... your eyebrows look fine to me. MINE on the other hand are becoming a lil too friendly with each other... the thick bushy unibrow is not cute ! HOW BOUT A DIY EYEBROW VIDEO JEN ??? 😉 Just a thought ! 😁
I love this the firat time i trimed my hair i did the 2 dinger thing and cut so much of my hair off and been scared to do it ever since and its been a long while so thank you for this cause i definitely butchered my hair thr first time
3 years later & this video is still top tier Ms. Jenn J. Thanks, I'm retwisting and definitely going to trim my hair today, I feel those rough ends LOLOL
A video I never knew I needed!!! My 14 yr old daughter and I just recently both cut our 8years & 2 years locs respectively. Well I cut mine (which means my hair length which is now a TWA is all over the place) while my daughter combed out her locs and her hair DEFINITELY looks like yours did before trimming! So we are definitely going to follow your method to trim her hair. Also thank you for enforcing the need for a proper hair scissor, cause your girl was about to get the scissors straight out of the kitchen! 😂🤦🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️
This video was life-changing for me as I came out of a big chop after 7 years of locs and trying to figure out my 4b 4c hair and its been an amazing journey thank you
I trimmed my hair right after I finished watching your video !! And I have got to say I BADLY needed this ! But now thanks to you I am soooo feeling myself ! Milles mercis all the way from France ;)
Watching as I deep condition, and now realizing I need to go ahead and trim my hair also. I don't remember how long it's been since I trimmed my hair 🤔 and it definitely shows. And yes I'm totally rocking those twist too when I'm done with my trim!
I agree the twist trim is better. I trimmed my ends this past Sunday and used the second method. I already notice less shredding, but when I moisturize and retwist tonight I'll get any scragglers I missed using the second method. Thanks sis👍
You are the truth. The most honest video regarding trims I've seem. Thank you for being so transparent. Our hair type is similar and I have been waiting on someone with thick hair like mine
Immediately after this video which I watched around 2am,i went to take out my braids and today is the day to do all the right things to show my hair some love Jenn you are powerful❤️‼️I swear I was planning to keep my braids for 2 months😂😂😂😂😂
First, let me say you have beautiful, healthy hair. I love the style and wish my twists looked as good as yours but I have low to medium density hair so....I trim my hair every 4 months since big chopping at the end of March 2019. My hair only grows an average of 4 inches per year and I willingly trim at least an inch to an inch and a half in total within a year. I also cut knots that are too complicated to unravel. My hair is in the 7 to 8 inch range at this point and I can't wait to attain your length.
Hey hey! So I have much longer hair and also have fine low density hair. Stay the course beloved, it’s coming. Also, even though they won’t look as juicy, I like trying some medium sized loose twists and letting them puff up a little to look like I have denser twists. It’s a little more fuzzy looking but still cute.
I only like to trim my hair when it’s in mini twists. I don’t trust myself to do it when my hair is loose LMAO. The only other time is when I get a silk press and let the stylist do it.
Thank you, you confirmed all the research I’ve been doing about the importance of hair trimming. I’ve just recently started getting serious about my natural hair care journey and I needed a trim bad. I did it myself using your 1st and 2nd method and let me tell you, I’m noticing a positive difference with my hair. I’m now a search and destroyer and it honestly helps my hair look and feel better and I believe I’m retaining more length since the trim! Thanks again!🙏🏾💚💫
About to bleach and dye my hair again since it’s a new year “new outlook” lol. Definitely going to trim after I’m done with the process and I loved the tips. Twists are a great way to trim, but if your hair gets somewhat hidden inside of the twist, it’s a little hard to really get all the split ends, since you’re only paying attention to the ends able to reach the bottom of the twists and actually sticking out. Thx for the video queen!
Yes just wanted to thank you for the video the tutorial it was very helpful for me it also helped me to identify the different types of split ends which I knew nothing about previously. One thing I know is when your arms with information you can do a better s taking care of her own hair p After many years raising a family I realized I was in a state of self neglect. This video was very inspiring. Thank you very much I look forward to seeing others and learning self-care
I did the same thing, my right side is shorter than the left side, hope they grow out and Il even them out some day..so sad..but oh well we learn from our mistakes
Yea I did the same I went from shoulder length to ear length while the rest of my hair was past my shoulders 😂 but I learned trimming in twists works better for me compared to trimming it loose
You are gorgeous!!! And that smile 🤩 this was extremely thorough and helpful. I just trimmed mine the other day and am chilling in my twists like you in this video, lol! Thank you!
That advice was needed- trim according to your hair. Cause I was doing the y months regimen, and here I am puzzled why I have thinning ends but not as many split ends. Def a thumbs up for the hairstyle before the advice. 😜
I trimmed my hair one time and I did it even and I was feeling myself then I get the school the next day and my friend was like “did you use normal scissors” and I said “yes” all confident and it was immediately shut down lol but now I got it lol
And this is a great video! Thanks for show us how to trim our hair. Getting a trim is super expensive and I rather save money unless I am doing something specific. And if it doesn't turn out right protective styles hides the unevenness or there is always a chop method.
Weird but it means a lot to see someone with hair the same length as mine. A lot of the natural community on RU-vid (that's prominent) seems to have either 3C/4A hair, or its just so long that it gets really discouraging. Nice to see someone with the same length as me that I can follow its growth.
I live in a true 4-season country. Therefore, I trim my ends at the beginning of each season. If I don't follow this rule, I would trim my ends more often than necessary.
I didn't even know I had split ends, but when I watched this video and saw ur split ends, I saw that my ends look like that too, I will definitely trim my hair after I take out my protective style (in like less than a week)
I don't have 4c hair but it does shrink massively so the twist method for trimming is going to be SO so helpful! Haven't trimmed in a long long time because I was slacking on taking care of my hair because stress and life. Detangling right now lasts all of 30 seconds before my ends are matted again, and lordt the BREAKAGE, but I'm excited to be back on that good hair care routine! Buying some new scissors tomorrow and let's do this 😎 Thank you so much for this helpful video! Some really good tips and tricks. Also those twists are a LOOK on you, absolutely gorgeous!
Thanks for the tutorial. I'm living outside of my home country, and have not had a trim in almost a year. I'm very skeptical about letting someone new do my hair. Especially with Covid lurking, going to a salon isn't first choice! I'm going to try method 1 on next wash day.. God bless me😔
Hey sis! Thank you for this video. I trimmed my hair for the 1st time in May and was so happy to see how much my hair has grown since the trim. I still find single strand knots but I try not to obsess over them or I'd go crazy! Lol much love from South Africa! Keep them video's coming sis🥰❤💛
I just subscribed to your channel after watching LaToya Ebony's video today where she linked this video. I went all natural in May and I'm learning something new all the time. I twist my hair and rod it at the ends and it will last all week. I am noticing the knots at the ends so after watching this I'm thinking it's time for a trim. So thank you for this video. Going out tomorrow to invest in shears!
MUCH needed video... with the quarantine (and even with it being a lil more relaxed now in some places) I'm not comfortable bein up in somebody's hair chair at a salon, but I know I am loooooooong overdue for a trim. I'm ok with whatever has to go, because when your hair is in a healthy state IT WILL GROW BACK ! Raggedy ends are not cute and take away from length retention and a potentially super-cute hairstyle looking its best. Thanks a bunch for this one Jen ! #letthemgo it's gonna be ok 👌🏾
@@JennJackson I love your hair style. I usally do this style also but because of shrinkage I put a headband on and tuck the ends under. Do you strech your hair for the length? 🤔
It looks like someone did thoroughly research. Great video! I know that I have been guilty in the past trying to holding onto those stringy pieces at the ends 😢. Lately, I been doing search and destroy ✂️ ✂️ ✂️ it.
Love the twist and the jewels to add some flava! Thanks for the tips, that is exactly how I trim my ends as well as my daughters! Btw your make up is on point as well! Love the color!
Loved it 💜! Thanks Wish I knew that when I had hair .Lol 😊. Now I'm about to have another Big Chop cause my hair is a hot mess due to not treating my 4C hair the best ☹. I recently came across & I liked the video of your TWA Chop 3 yrs ago. That style is so cute & where I'm heading. When my hair re grows , I will use great hair care tips. 👍🏽. Thxs. ☺
💖 That was soooo good! I had to 🤣 LOL @ your intro... Personally, I love to discover ssk’s & splits ends ✂️ and “destroy” them! 👩🏾🦳 (checkout my smile of satisfaction and the gleam in my 👀 eyes) As always, you are thorough and informative. Wishing you & your family the best! And yes... public viewing of twists, Girl!!! 👏🏾 You look so cute! People stare at mine... I choose to believe that they like them. 🌺💕❤️
I love this channel, yes I comment once in a while but todayyyyy am happy just from my RU-vid studio and this video by Jenn is the top video suggesting my recent video🙌🙌🙌🙌
VERY HELPFUL ! I always thought I was cutting too much when I would slide my hair between two fingers and cut what's "bushy" at the end, because when you pull on that bushy part, its really a lot of undamaged hair. I like this "twist and clip" way you did it. Thats my new way !
Yaaas Jenn, it is educational and informational 🙌👌🤗, you look amazing 🔥❤. Thanks for the video sis. where to start I just unraveled one of my twist braids to check for splitting...I have quite a few 😢 now I gots to say goodbye to my little length and my hair takes forever to grow😥 💔. This video is on point 1 week left on my braids and I'm getting a trim as per this video. Thanks ghurl💜💜💜
I just wat he'd this and used the twist method. I did it. Well...I used my kitchen scissors because it's about time and if I wait to get a scissors I may never get to it. Lol. But I'm loving my hair now
Liked, shared and subscribed. I really need to shave my head and start over, but I don't want to do that. My split ends are severe, so I need a professional to remove 3" of my shoulder length hair and repeat. Then wear braids until it grows back. Some spots its shredded from ends to scalp. Thanks for sharing. I will buy a pair of shears so I can prevent this from happening again and developing into such a severe state.
Great video. My braider keeps telling me I have to straighten my hair to get a trim. I'm against it because I do not wear my hair straighten at all. I'll try this myself and see how it turns out. Thanks for the video.
Heyyy.. This video is right on time. I'm going to be trimming my hair in a few days... Might even wear my hair in the twist. Thank you for your videos they are very helpful!!
Interesting method need to try. It's been 6 months or so since my last trim. Definitely time to trim as last few wash days has gotten longer due to matting and cob webbing from single strand knots 😫🤦🏾♀️
Jenn Jackson yes I did. So much. I’ve been waiting for this so that I trim on my next wash day (before I do a protective style) so yaaaas definitely!!! 🥳🥳💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾. Though it might be thought ‘counter productive’, I’m super excited for positive results in the future and don’t really mind the ‘present loss’. thank you again ❤️❤️.
