Great “how to” video Rob. I’ll never clean a gator, but know that if the situation presented itself, WE CAN DO IT!!!! Keep them coming, DMFD! Love to the family…
Good techniques, good explanation thanks for sharing. Some people don't understand or don't like what you doing, l love hunting and fishing and say good job.
I absolutely love what you do and the respect you have for the environment. You and your wife definitely have awesome skills! God bless and keep up the great videos and lessons!
Thank you this was very interesting I did not realize that the gator was so clean inside I would love to have me some Gator meat thank you for sharing your wonderful video I will be back
Well done Robert you made that look sooooo much easier than it is! I skinned a smaller one out for a mount and it’s got a few holes sewed up from my lack of experience! But I’d rather do it myself and learn than have it done for me!
When he blew up the alligator, I reminded the cartoon movies on disney channel. It is incredible in the way he did with the knife but I admit that human is the most cruel in the world.
I have a 13 year old son that is quite amazed by the lost arts. We have cured our own meats, learning how to blacksmith and grow our own for our family. I love this video as we sit here watching this and it further proves that taking time, loving what you do, teaching your skills, tells our children why we do what we do. My son sitting next to me as I type this wants so much to be a good man such as yourself to provide for his family and learn from all of us everyday. Thank you sir. Dear God, thank you.
John Zielinski Loved reading your positive remarks and you are so right! Your son will be a good human being. Glad to see you are teaching him to bot be a productive person.
Thank u so much man i really did learn alot from this video and appreciate all the clean and cooks you do and inspire me to do the same in the future ive never cleaned or catch and cooked but one day thats what i want to do with my life and i give u thanks man i watch ur videos everyday and i love what u do keep it up man
Your many years of experience is quite evident. Man you are a super professional. You know your stuff. I enjoy these videos tremendously. Keep up the good work.
Glad I found this I plan on heading to Florida this year to bow hut gators for my first time and up here in ohio im the town taxidermist so this was informative to what I need to do
Beautifully done. Thank you for respecting the integrity of the creature by taking such care in your work. Careful, clean strokes and an end product where nothing is wasted. That's how it should be. Now I want to try me some gator meat.
I don't think you're right on the amount of hunters that don't respect and use every part of the animals they harvest. I think the amount of poachers/bad hunters is 1% of all hunters.
any tanned hide i use that has a tag attached usually has the tag # go with the finished item on a sewn in leather tag so i or customers will always know origin of the animal. many commercial croc or alligator items dont have that record travel with them though. Though if you're wanting to tan for use in bags/etc, its the belly you want to keep intact, so you'd skin differently to this
I gotta say I really enjoyed watching your skilfull hand skinning the gator. Pieces of meat seem juicy and tasty. Someday, I´m sure, I will try this meat. Thanks for posting this.
What a great channel! Hunting is so important, cause it allows us to enjoy nature. Alligator's populate at a fast rate. Tourist can pet them as they become friendly. In nature they are more app to run from human scent. This channel offers conversation at it's finest.
@@che1925 Lmao we need humans to keep predator numbers from spiking and killing all the prey. For instance, if we didnt hunt wolves, then the wolves would eat all the other prey in their habitat (because they are at the top of their habitats food chain), and then we would have no other choice then to eat the wolves. This goes for other animals too.
My friends and I usually get a couple tags every year for Lake O. Every time I try cooking any part of the gator besides the jelly roll, the meat ends up tasting very gamey. Do you have any recommendations on how to cook certain cuts of meat to get rid of the gamey taste?
ABE Fishing You could try undercooking it slightly. In my experience overcooking gamey meat of any kind tends to make it even more gamey. Just be smart, you don’t want to get yourself sick. Also try bleeding it before you gut and skin. These might seem like basic tips but give them a try.
I can honestly say I never heard that statement before...@if this is your 'first' time skinning an alligator. What!!! You mean there are people out there watching this as an instructional video?!!!
I tried alligator for the first time last year and I loved it! it was fried and tasted so good. Hey Robert hows the new house going? it will be nice to see an update. Thanks for sharing I love your videos!
It’s really surprising to me just how clean it looks. A couple of times, I noticed that my mouth had started salivating, lol. I have had chunks of fried alligator tail once about 15 years ago and I still remember how amazing it tasted. It’s ironic that the one time I visited New Orleans, I was there for 3-4 days and didn’t have any gator at all. I think we spent most of our time hunting down the best beignets and catfish during the daytime and the best hurricanes and mixed drinks at night!
