I bought my 009L used about 20 years ago. Still works great. Haven't replaced anything except plug and chain. It now finally needs a new rope and fuel line. A keep forever saw.
Iv had one nearly 10 years lives on the wood pile never fails to start new plug and I expect it will live for ever.. brilliant little saw.got a few 026 there as reliable aswell.unbeatable
Thank you sir. I have the exact saw. Waiting for an ignition module. Had a hard time finding one. Not sure what it does thow. Maybe you know? It's a small little chip that sits on top of the coil.
Hi celtic shaman 365mhz. Thanks for the comment. The only thing I can think of is ebay. The parts you need might pop up or buy a whole saw for parts if the price is right. Sorry I haven't got any spares like that.. Cheers Calvin
Check again Tim , the 009 carb is mounted on top of the machine directly to the crank cases . A metal reed valve is fitted between the carb and the cases .
I got a Stihl 009 ---used very little --- It has a good compression .Good blue sparks The spark plug is always wet with petrol ....BUT DOESN'T START .....Can anyone help ?
If the spark plug is wet then that might be your problem. It’s flooded, it should only be moist. If after cleaning out the spark plug a few times it’s still very wet, you well need to service the carburetor. Cheers
