Thanks for watching! Many people have been concerned about subscription based plugins and I completely understand the concerns. This plugin is available to buy as a one off, perpetual license or as a subscription depending on which suits you better. I would never promote a plugin which forced users into a subscription model! Thanks!
Hey Micheal read your comment at WhiteSeaStudio's Video about the subscription models and want to ask you if you still want to release a Video about this Topic? Greetings from Germany I really like your content and really appreciate your work!
One of the best tutorials I have ever heard any DAW subject matters. Detailed, through, easy to understand. I have Slate Digital All Access pass, and now I can get straight work on my vocals I just recorded. Thanks!!!!
Thank you Michael, your channel and knowledge are really unique to RU-vid. Only from you I understood different secrets. On Russian RU-vid, such videos are not made. I've been watching you for a long time.
Yet again you've helped make a good decision and saved me so much time. I've been putting off getting the Slate subscription for about a year now. I've also been dreading doing the vocal tuning for my upcoming project, because it takes me so damn long. You've helped me solve both of those problems. Thank you Michael! You've been a godsend for music production/engineering.
Some people are skeptical of paid product reviews. I've followed Michael long enough to believe his reviews and opinions are always honest. He does a fantastic job of educating us. I am a capitalist and believe in people making money. These paid promos are informative and allow the presenter to give us other stuff for free.😁 PS, I have some of his Vital presets and they are excellent.
Thank you so much for creating and sharing this tutorial. I've only worked with recorded vocals once, but I ended up using an automation clip on the global pitch knob to make small tweaks at extremely short intervals. It was... tedious, to say the least. But it looks like this plugin will make that process much more manageable - I'm excited to try it! Again, thanks for all the wonderful lessons. The information in each video is always concise, clear, and immediately practicable. :D
Thanks for the kind words! That sounds so rough automating the pitch manually, usually if something is very tedious in audio work there is a better way. The trouble is knowing or finding what it is!
@@cadenjester893 Oh, I meant vocals that I had recorded for a project, as opposed to vocal tracks that were already available. But yeah, you make a good point - they'd be recorded regardless.
You are genius... all of your tutotrials are amazing...I am very happy to see you with sweet smiling face after long time.... Thanks a lot for sharing very valuable stuff and unique technologies in very easy and entertaining ways....God bless you.
You know, I saw the first few demo videos and I just wasn't convinced. I thought "This is just another AutoTune clone, like Waves Tune. If I want T-Pain, I'll use AutoTune, but if I want to be serious, I'll stick with Melodyne." And honesty, Michael, you've changed my mind. This is the first time I'm reconsidering owning either of them. I could tell immediately when you pushed the Retune speed to 0ms. When I do it in AutoTune, it's always jumpy and requires manual editing in order to tame, so that the vocal snaps to pitch correctly without jumping all over the scale I've set for it. T-Pain's vocals have always been done with AutoTune, but they always sounded so controlled and refined - obviously because the Graphic Mode was likely being used to clean up that "jumpiness". But you loaded up MetaTune, cranked it right up to 0ms, and I instantly recognized the "perfect T-Pain" sound. No jumpiness, no scale randomness, the vocal was being fixed to the proper notes and the effect sounded so refined. And considering how well it works with regular old vocal tuning, I'm strongly considering not upgrading AT or Melodyne in the future and just buying MetaTune instead. Anybody else feel the same way?
Great tutorial! I've been using this plug in for months but as usual hadn't bothered to dive deep and see all of what it can do. Looking forward to playing around with the doubler, groups and other features!
Hey Michael! i have been a subscriber since the very beginnig of this channel, all the work you do and taking some time out to help us all (at professional and beginner level) for free, you are a really Awesome guy, much Love and Respect to you. i am glad that people like you are a part of the music community.
Consider just buying the perpetual license for MetaTune if you don't want the entire Slate subscription. Of course, if you DO want to pay the subscription for all the other stuff it comes with, that's up to you. Just wanted to let you know you can buy MetaTune by itself in a one-time payment
@@mgmg116 but what's with the other packs? So it's like paying every month over and over again but you never really get the full versions, even after years when you could have bought some of all of them? Cause then I think I'm just gonna buy it alone yes
@@kingo5940 If you just buy MetaTune by itself, you pay the cost upfront, and just once ($199). If you buy the Access Pass, you get access to EVERYTHING that Slate Digital makes (synths, samplers, compressors, EQs, stereo imagers, reverbs, SSL emu plugins, vocal strips, etc) and you get the full version. But for this, you pay every month. Since the price is like $10/month for dozens of plugins, it's meant to look like a more attractive offer. Personally, I don't like subscription services at all. They seem like they're cheaper at first, but you end up paying more in the long run and you don't own a copy of any of the plugins. I think rent-to-own is a better model than monthly/yearly subscriptions, but of course, up-front onetime purchase will always be best.
Hello Michael, first of all thank you for taking a time and provide advanced tutorials to the world. There are many tutorials you have made so far, what I wanted to ask is, for a beginner I wanted to have a guide to your tutorials, for now am watching your videos randomly. Can you please tell me which topics should I watch first and what goes next. Thanks
Great review and creative ideas Michael. Even though this is a sponsored video, the demo and explanations were so neutral and to the point. Love it man thank you 🙏❤️❤️❤️
Wow..awesome..finally a software i can use...that is not so complicated. Awesome..I am gonna have to get this. Thank you for this tutorial. After checking out the price...200$ is a bit tough to digest for a newbie. I may bail on it for now.
Another great tutorial as always Michael! Will definitely be trying this plug-in out! How would you compare this to Antares autotune in your own opinion? Would you ever consider doing a video on Antares or a comparison between some autotune plugins Thanks again as always, much love 💜 you're doing great work!
@@musiccalgary it’s something that I would find useful and wouldn’t mind getting :) if you don’t feel the same that’s fine. That’s your business. Just handle it else where.
Something to note, don't just throw on autotune, or in this case, metatune, and call it a day. If you're looking for a more natural sound with metatune, do make sure that you have a good performance because it will push or pull to the nearest note within the scale, and they could sing a little too flat or sharp where it may hit the wrong note within the mix. So make sure you got a good performance or tune it up or down to the right note manually with melodyne or built-in vocal editor. Sometimes just going in and just pitch edit manually and having meta or autotune on top of it sounds even better and you can back off even more on the autotune settings or push it to be even more accurate in the context of the mix.
Absolutely. Sometimes if 2 notes are adjacent and the singer was closer to the “wrong” note, it will correct it to that note instead. It will still be in tune but completely throw off the melody. I’m lucky that I haven’t had this issue with metatune yet but it’s a good bit of advice to share!
Thank you sir....I'm your old....fan ... ❤️❤️❤️❤️.... You made my interest in music prod..... I was expecting....some advance sound designe... tutorials....like typically ... about wavetables.....using vital......can you bring up some..??? Some advanced...sound design... ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Will be so helpful ❤️❤️❤️
I will at some point. I was heavily involved in the product launch and testing so I wanted to give other creators the chance to get some video reviews out before I made more videos for the new ProX range. However, I adore the new ProX headphones and will be using them from now onwards in my regular day to day work!
They're both acceptable, but this video shows that MetaTune blows both out of the water. It seems to be using a harmonizer-based audio engine like Melodyne does, but it also seems as if it was AI-trained because it's exceedingly good at narrowing down pitch drift and pitch modulation, which was the entire reason I bought Melodyne over AutoTune. Considering MetaTune is like $100 cheaper than AT, that's just another reason for me to consider never updating my Antares license and just buying MetaTune
Wow. Looks like a decent melodyne replacement. I've been so fucked up lately spending 2-3 hours on correcting 1 minute vocal tracks. Definitely gotta get the trial and see if it works out.
Not really a melodyne replacement since you can't specify the note it's correcting to, but if you don't need too much correction these kind of tuners will do the job.
@@user-dw5qi6zi7y the point is not about the amount of missed notes, but about a million times you listen to your phrases over and over again, trying to understand whether you like it or not. Melodyne is also not to be replaced when you try to fake a note (sing G and then make A out of it) haha
Metatune verse melodyne. Make that video. I'd like to hear your thoughts. I've used melodyne for years now, it's a very good product. I'll check this one out as well.
Hi Michael - first thanks so much for everything you show us - I have a new yamaha psr-xs 900 (entertainer keyboars) - I am asking whether I can use its sounds in FL or it is not possible - that means it musst be only used us controler ??? if it is possible, I hope you could tell me in which of your videos can I see how it goes, or try to do your best to let me know about that ? Thanks so much and God bless you
Yes, and this is what the support said: "Thank you for contacting Slate Digital Support. While our All Access Pass can be activated via iLok Cloud, individual plugins and demo licenses require a physical iLok 2 or 3 USB dongle in order to properly authorize. The license can not be activated via iLok Cloud or directly to your computer (Machine ID). If you need to purchase an iLok dongle, you can find them at the following retailers: Amazon, Sweetwater, Guitar Center, Thomann, or Sxpro" Buy an iLok to test your software? Hard pass. I'll stick with Waves Tune :)
When I use this plugin in FL Studio 20 newwest version the GUI has a weird glitch in it where I can't see all the parameters. Any idea of how to fix this? Already uninstalled and reinstalled. The only way i've got it to work is to use it in bridged mode but then it doesn't save the settings when I open the project again (in bridged mode) smh.
This is strange behaviour indeed. I am using a 64bit operating system and the plugin in vst3 mode. What are you using and have you contacted the support yet?
You can buy it as a one time payment using the link in the description (scroll all the way to the bottom) and you can try it out for free then buy it in full if you like. I completely understand the reasons for not wanting monthly subscriptions!
Bro I’ve watched your videos for years now. Your chin has definitely grown substantially lol not joking I want your chin. Any advice? Do you eat a lot of tough meat or do a lot of chin ups? I’ve honestly been curious about this for some time but just now asking because of how fucking manly you’re chin is. Thank you for the years of knowledge!
Can you show me how to control scale root /type and other button with midi controller like Korg Nanokontrol2? I'd like to use it in Live session mixing with DAW like Studio One/Reaper/Bitwig. Thank you
