Thanks for the video man! I've got a Nissan Altima that I'm gonna try parting out and see how it goes. What methods do you use for estimating how much parts will be worth/which ones are worth selling? Also, do you sell the big parts locally (Doors, seats, etc)?

Originally I looked up every part I could think of on Ebay and it's listed/sold prices and put it on a list to get an idea of if parting the car out would be profitable. After doing my first car I got a much better idea of the realistic prices I can get for parts, and what parts would end up being dead inventory. I do sell the doors/seats locally, primarily because the weight. I have shipped multiple bumpers for relatively inexpensive.

Love the video. Who do you use to ship the big items like hood and bumper? Shipping is so expensive.

I've found shipping through Facebook marketplace great for shipping large items as it only prices based on weight, not size. So I could ship a 25-30 lb bumper for $40 rather than $200

You should take the window motors out. High use/ break part. Does the junk yard or metal scrapper take less seeing it stripped

Good idea on the window motors, I haven't researched that at all, so I'll have to take a look on how to get them out. I have had 1 instance of the metal scrapper taking less, but I just said that I'd go with a different company who gave me more.

@@silverfoxfinance Neither of the 2 companies I have dealt with required me to have the title in my name, they did take a picture of my ID, I'm guessing to make sure they are not liable if one of the vehicles were stolen (Obviously the ones I bring them aren't).

I would typically make my money back within the first month, but some weeks I would get 20+ messages on parts and some I'd get like none, so it's hard to predict. However, I have yet to take a loss on a part out yet. Patience is really key in this as dealing with customers especially on Facebook Marketplace is tiresome with a lot of lowballers and time-wasters.

I originally was planning on accepting returns for the first 30 days, but decided it was too much to keep track of. I decided to just decide if I’d accept a return on a case by case basis. Only have had to deal with that a couple times

Yes, I had a local metal recycling company take the car, but there's also websites you can go online to find junk car buyers (including stripped ones).
