What simple piece of advice could you try in your next surf to make your Turns better on your Mid Length surfboard?
Mid Length surfboards have enjoyed an explosion in popularity over the last few years and in this video, Mark Phipps explains 'How To Make Turn A Mid Length Better' by understanding the importance of reducing the rail line in the turn, removing some of the board from the water and making the use of the most performance part of the rail towards the back of the board
Mark Phipps is the creator of the Best Selling "One Bad Egg" Mid Length surfboard and there are few surfers on the planet that have as much surfing experience on a Mid Length as him
Mark is originally from the Bell's Beach area of Australia, has over 40 years of surfing experience, is well known through the surfing industry and if you thought MId Length surfboards couldn't be surfed with any performance then think again!!!
This video was filmed at Alaia Bay and taken from Mark's Masterclass Video series teaching how to surf Mid Length surfboards

I have been working on my turns and carving on a mid length the past couple of years. I unknowingly use the technique you mention here- effectively shortening the rail. Funny thing is I have been struggling transitioning the technique to my short boards. Often I lose speed and control and after this vid I’ve realized I’m not utilizing enough rail on my short boards. Thanks
