I’ve watched a lot of talks on IS but Louise is brilliant. So funny how it’s usually the most capable, smart people who feel inadequate. It doesn’t add up! I love the small mindset shift she mentions. Switching to ‘I care deeply about this’ or ‘how lucky to be with such smart people in a place I can learn’, it’s very clever.
I love this so much. Permission to be imperfect. Permission to learn on the go. Permission to have your care be enough to give you a chance to contribute! If you got yourself there, you deserve to be there.
Such a wonderful talk. Thank you. I have always had imposter syndrome. I am a draughtsperson. I have been doing it for 34 years. I still have imposter syndrome.
I feel this so hard. I graduated college with almost a 4.0, I landed on the honor role, and my professor always told me how smart I was, but I always felt like he said that because I was the minority woman in a male industry, and he was just trying to boost me. Now I have imposter syndrom because I landed my dream job, I scored 12 points higher than the next person under me during interviews, but I also knew the questions ahead of time, so I was faster with recall and I knew more information. So in that regard I feel like a fraud and that sooner or later they will find me out. I really needed to hear this today.
I love the way she puts it. It‘s so simple. When I noticed that this feeling has been going after me, my first instinct was to run away. But hey why not turn and look it in the face ? Let‘s dance with it and enjoy it. ^^
It's because people subbed when they saw the popular ted talks. Subs are nice but it really only matters if people see the videos so if a video happens to be popular then good for them. However if it doesn't it sucks for them.
