How to turn off the horn honk when locking the Dodge Grand Caravan 

I have a 2019 and I had to press and hold down the lock button not the unlock button thanks you got me in the right direction.

Worked for me but caused the alarm to go off. Don't try this when the kids are trying to sleep. For me, I want the horn silent on one press but want lights to flash. From the Caravan User's Guide: Sound Horn With Lock To turn the horn chirp on or off when the doors are locked: 1a. Push the lock button for at least 4 seconds, but no longer than 10 seconds. 1b. Then, push the PANIC button while still holding the lock button. 2. Release both buttons at the same time. Flashing Lights With Lock The turn signal lights flash when the doors are locked, which can be turned on or off. To turn this feature on or off: 1. Push and hold the unlock button and the lock button at the same time for at least four seconds, but no longer than 10 seconds. 2. Release both buttons at the same time.

2009 Volkswagen Routan SEL, WORKED!!! 👍 Also, if you repeat the process, it it turns the annoying horn beep back on. Don't know why you would want to, just letting you know.

The manual you are showing says to use the Lock button, which is the only combination that works on a Grand Caravan 2019.

I have a 2012 dodge ram 1500 (no evic) . the owners manual says: 1. Press the LOCK button on a programmed RKE transmitter for at least four seconds, but no longer than ten seconds. Then, press the PANIC button while still holding the LOCK button. 2. Release both buttons at the same time. This procedure doesn't work. Any ideas? Thanks.

On my 2005 Durango after playing around with it I found that I had to hold lock for 5 seconds, instead of unlock.

Just got a 2019 Dodge Journey v6 awd after my '14 Caravan got totaled. I tried the unlock on the fob for 5 and panic to no avail. It was opposite. Hold down the lock for 5 seconds and then hit panic.. No more annoying horn.

Part of me wants to turn the horn feature off but then again I use it to make sure my car has locked and I didn't accidentally unlock it while walking away. But THANKS for the video. Any ideal how to turn off the horn for the remote start? It's a OEM Mopar remote start system.

I have a 2015 Dodge grand caravan and in order for it to stop beeping, you need to hold the lock button for 5 seconds and then panic and let go same method. Just instead of unlock, you're pushing the lock button. Thank you for the info. Appreciate it.

I have the 2019 Dodge Grand Caravan SXT, the only thing I hate is that when you park to get gas or got to the local 7-11 store and park, then open the driver door, the van unlocks all doors and the rear door is also unlocked so that the punks hanging out at the store can just jump in your van because when you opened the driver door the whole van is unlocked, I want to disable this feature because it is dangerous because anyone can just jump in your van all doors are unlocked.

Will this work on a 2012 Dodge Charger?

Tried this twice. It didn’t work. Different trim line, we have the SXT Premium Plus and don’t have a remote start, also in Canada. The horn is super annoying. We didn’t have to deal with it on our Journey. Even the old Ford Fusion my father in law drives only hocks if you lock it twice. I hope I can figure this out, there’s nothing in the manual.

I don't know why anybody wouldn't want their car to honk when they lock it that confirms that it locked. What I want to know is why can't I lock my van immediately after I unlock it. Why do I have to wait 30 seconds?

Useful hint. Will try on my Dodge. I have a feature, that when you lock or unlock car, the front lights remain on for a minute or maybe less. Like lead me home lights. But I wanted to turn that feature off. Is it possible to switch it off using the key? Any suggestions?

On the 2019 it is the lock button you hold. Not the unlock. Same instructions otherwise
