It may work on most Android phones but in my HTC U11 life, I need as well to turn on the airplane mode to avoid any dropping calls. So, I turn on both settings, WiFi and airplane modes to make WiFi calling from my WiFi home. T-Mobile carrier.
Question. If i use wifi calling abroad from the US. Will i get charged for the $3 per minute intl rate? Without simple global feature and essentials rate plan
Your phone already has service by a carrier. With a new unlocked phone, under cellular there are no icons except "Add Cellular Plan". It says position the QR frame from your carrier in the frame. Your system doesn't work with a phone that doesn't have a carrier.
@@MochaMaknMoney ....what you mean ....my phone isn't even activated. I just use I t as a WiFi phone I have wi fi in my home and use a google number & a talktone number ... The phone cost only $10 closeout at family dollar too. I do it all the time I buy phones & just use them for a I pad or tablet.
2 new Moto G Stylist 5G phones work great on cell. If one is at home on Wifi and the other is on cell service, the one at home cannot hear the one on cell but the one on cell can hear the one on Wifi. If both are at home on WiFi, neither can call the other as the other phone will not even ring. At best we are getting 1 bar on cell so WiFi calling is important. Used to have 2 other Moto phone an X{2nd gen} and G7 Power and both worked with this wifi. Interesting when doing a search, there WAS a T-Mobile page for this issue but when it was selected from the search page, I got a T-mobile page not found.
Our 8 year old wanted a phone for her birthday. We got her the phone without the account. Was wondering if this would let her make calls while connected to wifi?
No good! He doesn't say what to do if a msg consistently pops up saying " no wifi calling - try again later". I try and try and try again later and get the same msg. Hate these incomplete tutorials. No help.
During yet another T-Mobile tower outage project, I was advised to keep my iPhone on cellular setting not WIFI because my phone would automatically search for the next closest cellular tower. Coincidentally, my T-Mobile WIFI wasn’t working either. Huh?

@@starzzz3774 I saw a comment that said put it on airplane mode with the wifi. When you make a call it will tell you to turn off airplane mode. Turn it off and then make a call. My phone is completely off. I sat through Tmobile informing of my late payment amd then the call went through. Hope this helps.
This misleading for Android. Android offers wifi calling only when Roaming. There does not seem to be any way to force wifi calling all the time regardless of the availability of a cell signal. Xfinity will not let you dial out if Airplane mode is on.
Annoying. They don't tell you that you must enter an emergency address. And they dont' explain why you would want to toggle wifi calling OFF. Isn't it always cheaper? ANnoying.
