Thank you so much. Because I have a double sink, the water was squirting out of the other sink especially the hole near the top of the sink. Never knew you have to cover the other sink with a plug. You are a total life saver. Thank you so much again.
Thank you! This worked first try for ground coffee which had clogged our kitchen sink. Neither drano or the kitchen snake tool worked but this worked right away
I have been struggling with a kitchen sink drain for years. The advice from this video cleared my drain completely! The clog shot right up and out of the drain/disposal. A giant hair ball!
Worked like a charm!! 🙏 Tried baking soda & vinegar, salt & boiling water, pulled it apart, drained it rigged a homemade snake and even tried to plunge it - BLOCKING the other sink!! 🧠🫡 Thank you, thank you for sharing.
It eventually worked for the clog in my double basin sink. But before I could get this method to work, I first had to duct tape my aerator shut so I could get an airtight seal. Thank you for posting this fix.
Thank you for this. There are a million videos out there using a plunger on a single basin sink. Whoopee. This is the only one I've found that tackles the twin basin problem and fix.
It worked! Thank you! My hypothesis is that it was these 'plink' things that are like sink deodorizers or something. After using them water started slowing down draining. I didn't use a flat plunger just whatever I had which has a little bit at the bottom sticking out. And yeah hold a cover over the other side and after 10 pumps, bam it was draining like new! Thank you!
I sorted mine by taking away some pipes, unclogging those with a rod. Then pushed a flexi rod down the pipes I couldn’t access and fitting that rod onto a combo drill. Gave it a good blast, put it all back together and then used a plunger to force the gunk out!
Never watched a video like this but our double basin sink got clogged and then had an idea when nothing else was working, and that was to use a toilet plunger after noticing that the pipes were in the similar pattern as the inside of a toilet.
Best cheap way to start clearing a clog sink is to try thrift drain cleaner first most products like drain-o are a maintenance product plus the plunger he uses is a sink plunger not closet plunger but with the right plunger you can fold the lips inward on the bladder
You shouldn’t plunge right away b/c you could drive whatever is stuck even deeper you should lift the lid of the plunger and set it down allowing the air out of it and it will allow you to suck up at first
I learned it’s best to sit back and listen to your dad and learn to take the p trap and trap arm off and rent a nice 75’ auto drain auger and push that sucker out for good. Now after every Sunday night dinner I run an enzyme cleaner down there for any soap scum and grease buildup so I don’t have to use the 75’ drain snake again
i'd prefer to pull the contents back up the pipe rather than try to push a plug down the drain further. If it really is clogged, that plunging motion might break the pipe (*obviously if you really reefing on it).
How would you plug the dish washer over flow access thingy? When one side of the double basin is plugged, and I plunge the opposite sink opening, water starts spewing out of the dish washer overflow pipe.
In order for this method to work on my double sink basin that was clogged, I had to first seal my aerator (what you call the dishwasher overflow access thingy) with duct tape to get an airtight seal.
I live in a DW Trailer where the CLOTHS WASHER drain is tee'd to SINK drain.....DONT DO THIS plunger thing in that application, unless ur dead sure! ...I got RAW sewage coming out washer drain, n Now i got it at point the water is between the two drains, gotta go under house n find that clean-out! :)
