How to uninstall McAfee - Windows 10 

The fact that this "anti-virus" software is this difficult to get off of your computer really makes me question the anti part in anti-virus

Imagine forcing someone to download another one of your products to get rid of the first one.

Is there a reason why McAfee acts like malware? Like I’d end a task and 5 seconds later it would start up again in my task manager. Had to remove it because it made me uneasy about those quirky behaviors.

I uninstalled it straight from the windows settings and it worked just fine. I am on windows 11 btw.

First I did uninstall from control panel but it left something running in the tray, so then I’ve tried MCPR several times but it just freezes and says ‘incomplete uninstallation timeout no response from mccleanup.exe’ after like 10 mins, if I click on ‘view logs’ nothing happens.. So I used your method and I feel like I got screwed in a major way at the end. I had to use the live chat thing and the "agent" that sent the program that finally removed the McAfee antivirus exe called from a number that showed "health first" on the caller id. When you call the number back, they ask for your full social security and they aren't able give any evidence that they're a real company. So McAfee got removed and my computer works like it used to but I'm afraid to connect it to the internet until I'm able to completely wipe that version of windows and reinstall. Not sure if I'm in a better position or not but I'm pretty sure they got some sinister shit onto my computer. Any recommendations on where to go from here? Edit- I forgot to mention my computer has never connected to the internet since I had to run that program he sent. It's been turned off in airplane mode ever since.

THANK YOU!! I've been trying to remove it for an entire WEEK now! But for some reason it keeps coming back to my computer. It also slows my computer down. And hell, McAfee might even be a virus also due to what it has been doing to my computer and stuff. This is probably the best tutorial I've found. McAfee was also literally already installed on my computer even though i didn't even install it, which is very weird. I'd rather use Windows Security than this bullshit.
