Soot, that is a problem! Here is what would try: 1.) Obviously, see if you can heet the glue gun up and pull the pencil out. Use plyers to get a stronger grip if necessary. 2.) See if you have a wire or thin rod to push up the nozzle of the glue gun. You might be able to use it to push the pencil back out. 3.) Your Glue gun nozzle might be able to unscrew. If so, you could take it off (This will be a little of a hot glue mess) and then use a thicker rod to push the pencil out. 4.) You could take your glue gun apart to to remove the pencil. hope this helps and you can find a way to get it working again! - Eli
@@MakerBrainhello, ive had the same problem but the lids have both melted.(i was using a twosided eyeliner pencil to get more glue out) the glue is also black so i think its really melted. My nozzle doesnt unscrew and i dont have any pliers that i know of

Hmm, that sounds like a sticky situation... I have never actually had a glue gun with that problem so I can't give you perfect advice, but here are some things I might try. 1. You could try scraping it out with some sturdy wire, needle, nose, pliers, and maybe a knife. 2. You could try forcing a glue stick through the barrel (with the dried hot glue stuck on the inside plastic) a bunch of times to try to wear out the stuck glue. 3. You couldn't heat up and partially melt the end of a new glue stick and stick it into the back of the glue gun. The goal would be to get the melted part of the new glue stick stuck to the glue inside of the glue gun. Then, after you let it cool you might be able to pull it all out. But if this goes wrong, you might just end up gluing an entire hot glue stick to the inside of your glue gun. 4. You could try using a hair dryer or heat gun or even a wood burner or soldering iron to heat up the glue That is stuck inside of the gun and then scrape it out with a popsicle stick. Oh no! I'm so sorry for you. Some other people have had a similar problem where they got the entire pencil stuck inside of the hot glue gun. You might be able to get it out by sticking a small wire in through the nozzle of the glue gun to push the runner out the back. You also might be able to take the nozzle off of your glue gun to do this more easily. Unfortunately not all glue guns have removable nozzles. You know if this helps you. - Eli

Hmm, I have not done a lot of investigation into glue gun check valves, but I'll tell you what I know. I think most glue guns that advertise themselves as anti-drip probably have a check valve in the nozzle. Older glue guns that have a simple cone shaped nozzle certainly drip a lot more. I have one glue gun that leaks perpetually. However, your glue gun will tend to leak more if it gets hotter because the glue will be more runny. The gorilla glue gun has a check valve in the nozzle but still drips a little bit. That being said, the trips are very small and slow, so by the time they reach the table they are pretty much completely cooled down. After seeing your comment, I did a little bit of research and found a check valve component that can be screwed onto a glue gun and then have a non-Check valve nozzle screwed onto it. Essentially adding a one-way valve to a non one-way valve nozzle. I hope this helps! Happy crafting! - Eli
@@MakerBrain i just removed a valve with a stopper ball powered by a spring in the nozzle but now i am unable to figure which way was it in there...... Although it should be straightforward but it isn't... There is no video about this in YT!
Oh man! I'm sorry to hear that. It sounds like the ball and spring fell out of the nozzle? I have never dealt with this particular issue before so I can't give you a step-by-step solution. If I had the glue gun in my hands I might try to research and troubleshoot some stuff. I have like a weird certain blockage with my hot glue gun. The hot glue got pushed back and it created a blockage in the spot where you can see where the hot glue goes and it just takes a lot of force to get even a drop of hot glue out and I doubt that it’s going to make it any easier to put another glue stick in when it runs out.

Gabriel Wood, I really appreciate you coming back to let me know that my advice helped you! If the glue gun is not working after you dropped it you probably need to take it apart to figure out what is wrong. If it doesn't heat up I am not sure if I have any great answers... perhaps some wire came out of its place and you could put it back in. If the trigger is not working then you might just have to repair a linkage in the glue gun. That can still be hard - especially because the parts are often rather small. I’ve accidentally put in a size just a little tiny bit bigger than the usual size for my hot glue gun, I can’t get it out and it’s making it not work/not get hot, how can I get it out? I mixed the regular and tiny bit bigger size all together, but I can easily tell them apart bc one is clear glue and one is white glue. Any tips?

I am not entirely sure what you mean, but if you're asking if it is okay to leave your hot glue in the nozzle then the answer is yes. My gun wasn't working and when I pulled out the glue stick, I realized there was glue stuck in the nozzle, causing a blockage and so the glue wasn't coming out. Unfortunately I pulled the gun and still couldn't get to it and of course couldn't put the gun back together and I tossed it out because I have another one. So just in case it happens again is there anything that can get that built up glue out of the chamber
@@besgordon Hmm, That's a tricky one. If I were in that situation, before I did anything else, I would try to jam a needle up the tip of the glue gun in an effort to clear it out. If that doesn't work, even when the glue gun is hot, I might try heating the needle up with a lighter and then pushing it up the nozzle. If that didn't work I would try letting the glue gun cool down and then pulling the glue stick out. If that isn't possible, pulling the glue stick out while the glue gun is hot might solve your problem (but it probably won't). I don't have any advice for you after that point without being able to work on the glue gun myself.
Hiya! I was confused last night when nothing was coming out. So, I stupidly pulled the glue stick out… this made the hot glue jam in the insert of the glue stick. So I cut it, and now there’s half a glue gun stuck and I can’t get it out 😂 AND it appears jammed in the nozzle. Trying to fix it!
