level 50 in servants of flame when the storm curse got released and honestly feeling super demotivated after that such a huge grind for mid skeleton cosmetics when i could just buy a curse
Level 729 in Servants and I can tell you, there's no reason to be demotivated. A silly cosmetic being sold means nothing when you're actually putting in the effort to unlock a real curse that takes +30 hs and lots of PvP exchanges. Don't give up.
That's not the point, the point is the grind each curse represents Wearing the skelly curse is a flex, wearing the lightning curse is wallet warrior behaviour Even though my ship is mostly bought cosmetics (because I like them) at least I can use rare trinkets/trophies/ship titles/player titles to flex instead.
I like the Sunken sorrows curse, even if you cheese to the end to get the curse it still needs some effort that is out of the way, I also like the Lightning Curse, but I do feel it is not great that we can just buy it, I think a simple mission where you had to killed by lightning on a couple of islands in the SOT that draws out a lightning bolt on the map would have been better but eh what do I know ;p.
I agree with that. I feel like curses were the one thing that was exclusive to playing the game and that brought them meaning. While the others still have meaning, it's kind of boring paying 500 ancient coins to instantly obtain a curse.
Gold curse is soooo boring to obtain, all because of "complete the same tall tale 5 times" - so basically 9 cool talltales and another 36 tedious repeats with not much replay value. Wack.
It definately can be a grindy process. To have the most fun getting it I just did all the tall tales with 5 different friends. Journals are 100% a pain in the ass to get though.
@@sleepyghozt1231u can cheese it if u bring someone else for the final checkpoint, they leave and keep the checkpoint, you complete the tale, and they come back and give u the checkpoint, again and again
My favorite Curse is probably the gold curse because back in the day I had a really good pattern that covered most of my character's upper body. My GT is Datasm
My favorite curse will always be the gold curse. I completed it before checkpoints and Safer Seas were a thing. I'll never forget having to do the art of the trickster over again more times than just 5 because me and my crew blew up before getting to safety. Great times and great laughs!! Stiixgirl215
My favourite curse is the skeleton curse, although you don't have the customisation like the Athena's curse, I still love the way this one looks. I mean sure it's a grind but it's worth it.
you can actually find these stupid skeletons that give ancient coins that are like more rare then the frickin shrouded ghost to me cause I have got 0 and killed 1 shrouded ghost but it’s more likely to swipe a credit card and get coins.
And everyone knows. So who cares. If you like it get it if not let others enjoy it. Having one curse that doesn't force people to do thing for hours on end won't hurt you I promise.
@@enigmaoriginal2665 nothing against the players friend. just bashing rare for putting it in the emporium instead of locking it behind a commendation giving players a reason to play the game
@@enigmaoriginal2665no, it should’ve been a reward for storm fish commendations or getting struck by lightning. Instead rares greedy hands realized that ps5 players spend tons of money because they want cosmetics without grinding
My favorite curse is the sunken sorrow, just because of the trek going through all the shrines and finding the lore made it feel like I was actually doing things that would get your pirate cursed in the actual setting. Gamer tag GrayWerewolf
My favorite has to be the Ghost Curse, but the grind is pain in the aahole as a solo slooper, which would be fine if not for the current state hourglass is in with it's "skill based match making", still that won't stop me from being real spooky 👻 - GT Armanowy
I just have to say, as someone who has the majority of curses unlocked in this game.... the Hourglass ones are by far the worst, and most tedious. It doesn't even come close. So I think people complaining about the gold curse need a reality check in that regard.
@@JokerP5 if it wasn't hard, more people would have it. Which they simply don't. The fact is, yes, anyone can achieve it. However, the grind is incredibly tedious and long.
@@goblez5900 I recommend playing during those 2,5x rep days it goes much faster, a lot of dice people too that dont waste your time. So just wait for those days, maybe do like 2-5 levels a day and it’ll become much more fun and easier. Might still be slow but it wont burn you out (at least it worked for me)
HG is different for everyone. Some people can't win pvp and some people can. It took me a bit over a week to get the ghost curse with help of a double xp weekend. While the Gold curse took me about 2-3 weeks of tall tale replays. Pvp is different every match while Tall tales are the same thing 5 times in a row. Though I can understand why people can struggle more with HG.
Grinding shores of gold just now. I have noticed that when you complete a tall tale the final checkpoint remains so you can use that to get a 2 for 1 to half the grind. Only noticed 6 tales into it sadly lol
Yeah it's one of my faves too, unfortunately they decided to lock it behind hourglass now instead of behind Athena's 100 or something more appropriate. I played a lot back then but unfortunately my PC died before I could finish the battle pass.
Still level one in guardians yet I have the curse. I don’t wear it but still happy I have something that is locked behind a grind I’ll probably never finish lol
My favorite curse has got to be the skeleton curse. It just looks so cool and actually not too difficult to obtain and you don’t have to repeat any exact voyage or tall tale. Since pvp is required to get it, you get really cool moments where you pull off incredible wins which makes it a very memorable journey to complete too. ArmOfSilver
My favorite curse is the Sunken Sorrow one I complete the voyage and complete all shrines before with a friend during a 7h session back in the days when Safer Seas didn't exist It's my only curse, and I wear it with the title attached I like it because of the memories, and because I really like the colours Thx for the video My gametag: CenturionXIV549
Ill never be in the side of Emporium curses. Curses should be earned by doing things in game, by creating memories and having adventures. Even the tedium of the Gold Curse is more worth it than shelling out money
I think the pirate Legend curse is the best because with the Gost course you become a glowing target and it is imposible to board someone. But if im not going in Hourglass i wear the gost curse. lumi2090
I like Ashen Curse 👺, despite it's easy to get. It looks realy cool. I switched curses from time to time. Now I have Order of Souls Curse 🖤 cause it matches my outfit 😉
my current favorite curse is the creeping stone curse because it’s subtle but still looks really cool and doesn’t get completely covered by clothing my gamertag is MadamThulhu
Pretty sad that in 2025 these videos are just gonna be full of “put in your credit card details and buy from emporium”, instead of actual achievements/ story’s like fighting for your faction, or completing lore-filled tales😐
Don't worry he won't have to make another video for the rest of them. Just add to the end and if you want any of the new ones buy them from the emporium
my favorite curse probably has to be the skeleton curse because i love the hands and customization, or the pirate legend curse because its a nice minimal curse that goes good with a lot of outfits. 👍 gamertag - lIflopsyIl
My favorite is the ashen because I like the glow it goes good with my pirate legend outfit and I know it’s really easy to get but yea that’s my favorite- tornadoalley11
Best curse is gold curse, dosen't have the negatives of being load or being a glow stick while still showing experience. Also looks good and allows many possibilities of customisation. User-WitherJocky14
My favorite curse is the pirate legends curse because I use it for sentimental reasons. Season 1 reminds me of the time when the arena servers briefly filled up again during Season 1 gamertag/ MartinusCesar
