PLS help, I've been trying to connect to the ORCLPDB but the system tells me it does not exist. I then tried to use the XE in the tnsora file but error again. i have tried to use 3 different approaches xepdb1, xepdb2 and xepdb3 to connect to the HR but NOTHING is working. PLS PLS HELP!

I have a query, I followed above steps and opened hr db successfully , worked in sqldeveloper without any issues but if I close sqldeveloper and open again ,and try to work in HR db its throwing error ,Status : 'Failure -Test failed: ORA-01109: database not open ' Its happening every time when I close sqldeveloper version 19.2. Every time I have to follow steps in command line to move from container db to pluggable db ........and so on.. Please provide some inputs
In multi-tenant architecture whenever you shutdown your system oracle engine shuts all the pluggable database by default. That’s the reason you are getting this error. To solve this error, you can do two things- 1. Open your pluggable database every time you restart your system. For that use this statement Alter pluggable database open; 2. Open your pluggable database and save its state. Once you do that oracle will save the state of your pluggable database. This way you don’t need to open your PDB again and again. For this run this statement alter pluggable database pdb_name save state; Run both the statements through the sys user. Have a great day!
thanks for the video Manish, i was able to unlock HR, but when i try to unlock OE and PM i get error that user does not exist. looks like i have to install from github.com/oracle/db-sample-schemas/releases/tag/v18c . Any videos on installing the github sample schemas,? i don't understand the readme that comes with the samples
Sir i tried but for ORCLPDB open mode its coming READ WRITE .in your case its coming as MOUNTED.Please reply..or anyone else getting this error plz reply. Thanks in advance
you should change the service name from XE to the entry you made in tnsnames.ora , say in my case i created a new service named XEPDB1.. because XE listens to older container DB not pluggable db we altered using alter session to use the pluggable db
