Thanks for that. At the start of your video it said that 750mm is the recommended depth to install for water service etc..., does this recommendation also apply if I wanted to extend the pip from my main tap (from the house) to another tap (to one I want to install in the future in my garden)?
May depend on regulations in your area. However, 750mm is recommended as this is below the frost level so your pipes don't freeze and burst in winter. My setup is similar coming off mains and running 750mm underground down the garden on a bed of sand. May be worth adding pipe insulation where MDPE pipe runs up to the surface. Happy digging :-)
The MDPE pipe in this video is 20mm used for pop-up sprinkler irrigation. You can check out video below where we use 25mm MDPE pipe from our 3400 litre underground water tank (rain harvesting) to taps and solenoid valves which then reduce to 20mm for the individual irrigation zones. For mains water we use 25mm MDPE pipe. HOW TO CONNECT MDPE FITTINGS - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-QDJ2gUNuf-Q.html
@@94news20 Assuming your pump is working correctly, you will need to prime the pump in order for it to draw water. You would also need to ensure the suction hose is filled with water, in addition to the pump casing. If not your pump is likely to switch off automatically if it is just sucking air. This is to prevent the pump overheating when water is not present which acts as a coolant.
Good question, so how do you do it with 200m of 32mm? That's a whole load of pipe 😀 Back in SA we use to hoist the drum and pull the pipe but I'm not using anything near as big here. This video I'm using 20mm and 25mm thickness with max 50m metre lengths.
