I used a towel instead of paper and it worked pretty decent, got about 75 to 80 percent of the wrinkle out.

I tried it, it worked. I used long piece of parchment paper (for baking), except my jacket was full length long, so I put the iron setting on High (not medium) and just kept the iron moving, not sit in one spot too long.

P.S: also w/parchment paper I pulled a very long piece out to fold in half for double-ply. Certain spots on the coat I unfolded and went single on hard- wrinkled areas.

I would have done a close up of the wrinkle and a before and after shot of the leather, I wont risk my jacket with out visual proof, to many trolls on the internet can't take your word for it.

it works, dont worry Just be careful. If the iron is too hot or you leave it too long, the leather might get burned

Would this work the same with a lapel on a leather jacket? I obviously didn't take proper care of it and one lapel is starting to curl instead of sitting naturally. Any advice would be much appreciated

This vid is helpful. Got caught on the interstate in a 2 hour rain storm. My chaps and jacket were drenches as they're drying, they are wrinkling. I'll get them completely dry, and try this method to see if I can restore them. I'll probably use brown paper on the bottom, too, so I don't trash mamma's ironing board. ;-|

I tried that, it works but not the best! Paper doesn't burn as long as you keep iron moving! Has to be parchment paper.

No, the leather knows what it's made into. So the leather in this tutorial knows it's a jacket and only jacket wrinkles can be ironed out. If you try this on trousers they will be angry.

My leather skirts permanently fucked. I put mine in the wash without thinking whatsoever and it’s just horrible, this technique was okay but didn’t do it justice for me.
