How to update BMW iDrive Software (still works in 2023)

Here is the LATEST(mid of 2020) link to download BMW iDrive update : (***subject to change by BMW, if you have any problem to find the file please message me ASAP)
***Please also make sure your usb stick is formatted to Fat32 before putting the new software on it.

Thanks for putting this together. This worked for me. Only thing to add is that I believe the usb stock needs to be formatted to Fat32 before putting the new software on it.

Thanks just updated my 1 series m sport took about 14 minutes to update after install so yep just be patient and wait or you will corrupt the install. Great video

Thanks! I just did it for my 2016 and it works so much better now that it's updated. My phone bluetooth connects faster. Much faster.

I have a 2016 550. Upon putting my VIN it said it's updated. I still need to see the current software in my car but if that is updated, then am doomed!!

Going to try this out, my F25 constantly disconnects/reconnects to my iPhone 7 and it's extremely frustrating. Hopefully this will solve my issue!

Update didn’t fix the issue, I ended up just connecting to my car through Bluetooth and use a USB cigarette charger instead...

Hi, usually in software field, a higher number after dot means a more recent version of the software. so in your case, both builds are released in March 2021, but the .40 shall be the next release of .30

Hi, website shows that update is available for f20 BWM but upon inserting the usb the idrive shows installed software is up to date. Dealer have confirmed newer update is available.

Looks like nothing was updated though, took a screen shot of the before and after and its the same numbers except for the media which is -071 after the update and was 080 before

Hi JR my Drive is 2015 and I've downloaded the files via a mac onto my USB drive. The file 99mg 19 in total look in order, but when I plug into the car I get the message no files found on the USB stick. I had deleted the previous files so its only the BMW ones on the stick.
